I met a few Brits who’d migrated to NZ while I was there, and they were fully on board with all the shite that had ruined their own country–they were incapable of seeing the connection.

The word in Seattle is that NZ is a good place for Yanks to settle, as the capital gains tax is low, property is cheap and the views of sea and mountains are terrific!

Like I said before, socialism is a global disease that is spread into new regions of the world by those infected with the dread illness.
Here in Washington state, for instance, we have the ongoing California invasion of folks who flee the ruin of the People’s Republic with its unchecked illegal immigration, poverty and high taxes to a better neighborhood – and continue to vote for the same socialist crap that killed the once proud “Golden State.”
BTW, this is a very common complaint in the West states – and when a moving van with California plates rolls into a neighborhood, the new arrivals sometimes get a delegation of neighbors who tell them to shape up or ship back to L.A.
I had tried to be amongst that number of 5501 a few years ago. Now I am extremely glad it didn’t work out. It’s going to be bad enough, but to have to fight and survive in a new land is more, much more, difficult. At least here I can readily guess who is on my side and who is not, now that I am old enough to be a grumpy old git.
Funny [expression- NOT really] I was having this conversation with an ex-kiwi who opened a bank account for me today, I even mentioned the part-maori breeding with indians.
She and her husband had considered going back, now they have grandchildren, but a week or two in N.Z put them right off that wishful thinking.
