We all know that the officers who are right up the rectum of their superiors get the promotion. The military should be run by the non-coms, they’re the only ones who get things done. Cpt. mawm

This is what happens when you have a two-tier entry system. They should get rid of it. It’s a relic of the days when Officers bought their commissions. The Starship Troopers model is the way to go. Everyone out to reach the rank of Sergeant and then they can whether or not to go through the lobotomy.

Poor planning, poor attention or just rotten luck, the same way it usually happens.
Hell of a note, get wounded and survive combat only to get wiped out in a parade.
They were heros right to the end though.

This is not surprising. One effect is that most long-service career officers in the American army look like pudgy, middle-aged business men or city council bureaucrats.

Warriors they may be – but only with a handheld Powerpoint laser.
