NZ: ‘Climate scientist Jim Salinger has backtracked on a forecast that was going to see the mercury hitting 40 degrees for the next few days.
Instead parts of the country will reach temperatures between 30C and 35C, Dr Salinger said today.

    Some prick’s getting top dollar for junk/non science.

    [That comment is not to disparage work being done here for attempting to understand and predict effects in real-time. I’m bitchin’ about guess-work that doesn’t factor in the sun or clouds]

    The title ‘scientist’ is misused so much these days the word is set to go the way of ‘racist’ or ‘fascist’.

  4. I tell you Wabbit, it’s a wonder I haven’t strangled one of the lefty idiots at the office. I mentioned to one today about Salinger getting press despite pulling NIWA down the ‘global warming’ bridal path. He started in about the pollution in China and how that must be having an effect because you can see it! When he got to ‘all credible scientists agree’ I left the room in disgust.

    Stooge, activist, sock puppet, praise singer and superstitious faith disciple may be more apt nouns.
