Or perhaps not….

‘NOISY children have been banned from a shopping centre in a move reflecting society’s growing intolerance.
…Parenting expert Dr Justin Coulson said it was a reflection on society becoming increasingly intolerant of young children and parents…’
Seems to me that children have become much louder and behave far worse in public than they used to. Perhaps people are simply sick of it.

    Sigh………
I can’t remember ever needing a sign to remind us how our children should
be behaving in public when raising ours.
So definitely a “Sign of the Times”
Then again, a visit to a “Food Hall”, back in the day would have resulted in
a hushed and reverend silence anyway
Now they are just places to avoid.

“Now they are just places to avoid.”
      They sure are.
For all the proliferation of “early childhood experts” and so forth, I don’t see kids behaving any better. The notion that children can be raised without discipline is utterly screwed–even dogs discipline puppies. How are kids supposed to learn the limits of behaviour, by some magical process?
And it’s not possible to reason with them as one would an adult, since they’re simply not fully wired at that age.

The only thing worse than noisy shit-head kids is their shit-head parents who appear incapable of controlling their off-spring. The “kids are always right school” generates self-infatuated sullen bimbos.

They are not going to from parents who seem to have no boundaries. It doesn’t help that politicians have interfered in the family by banning smacking.

If you don’t discipline a dog he will discipline you . Children do the same. It’s not their fault it’s their nature. Ones they know the limits they are happy. In fact they are asking for it.

Excellent comments under that article.

My daughter (who refuses to have children) says the same thing that kids have no manners. I asked her if she could do better has a parent. She hasn’t spoken to me since.

There are no parents these days. My parents wouldn’t let me behave that way. I didn’t let my kids behave that way. But today’s “parents” refuse to set boundaries. If they do CPS takes the kids away, and if they don’t you get a bunch of brats. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

I worked with a black lady by the name of Henrietta. She was a press operator,a working mother and a stout Christian.I saw her and one of the young ones in a store one afternoon and the kid was giving her a hard time. She warned the boy one time and then smacked him good across the butt a couple times and he piped down.

There was this Cop standing inline across the isle who started to say something to her about it when she cut him off by saying-“you know I’m right and if not I’ll whip you too” He didn’t say anything else

Her kids all grew up to be fine adults, discipline works magic.

There’s not much good to say about Europe but one thing they do have over the Anglosphere is better mannered children. When I was there this amazed me. Not once in my 2 week trip there did I hear a single screaming child. Parents don’t tolerate that crap there.

Next time you encounter a loud, obnoxious kid tearing about the joint and generally pissing you off, lean in close to the kid’s face, put your hands behind your back, make close eye contact and give the little brat the most malevolent look and HISSSSSSSSSS . The hiss MUST be menacing. Then watch the kid run back to mummy and up her skirt. You won’t see or hear from it again. Any nearby witnesses will have noted your non touch, but effective, maternal “word of advice” and blow you kisses. This technique has not failed me yet. ;-)

Just got a call from the Police, possibly the first that wasn’t to invite me in for a “chat”….Wabbit is now a licensed firearms owner. For the first time. A licensed driver, too. Respectability looms…

  8. mistress mara says:

KG “respectability looms …” I trust that this new, impending status will not impact on your entirely correct cynicism as to what their interests really are.
ps, I have a beige cardigan for sale .. sort of beige on beige with neutral undertones , one size fits all. heh

  9. KG says:

    mmmmmm…beige…so… invigorating.
I know what their interests really are, Mara and I’m still adamantly opposed to them. This Wabbit won’t be wearing sandals with socks and smoking a pipe anytime soon.
