    I have a brother-in-law who owns a building company in Canterbury. When he visits other parts of NZ and reads so-called “news reports” about CHCH he cannot believe the negative crap being reported as authentic. He has been fully occupied, with additional staff recruited from Poland, Indonesia (the muslim workers never arrive at work hungover or texting a whining tart,) UK,Australia, Canada and parts of South America. He confirms three resounding things:
    1 The NZ media wants CHCH to fail.
    2 The re-build is well advanced.
    3 The local beneficiary class only ever turn up to “work” when their bludged funds are threatened by the dole givers.

    CHCH can be re-built and thrive again and this is happening. I was speaking to a gib-stopper from Palmy North who says he has enough work in the SI to keep him and his staff of 30 odd busy until he retires….he is 51!

    I am fucking sick fucking sick of this bleak repetitive shit.

    PS CHCH wages in the construction industry whip the shit out of the OZ construction industry!
    PPS He overheard an Indonesian worker tell a rabid union rep to leave him alone…music to my ears!

      Yes! I visit CHCH from time to time and it honestly is abuzz with re-development and optimism. You know as well as I do that the NZ media is not only inept but to the left of Pravda.Would you imagine anything other than bleak shit emanating from the msm in this socialist republic?

      CHCH has a pulse again believe me!

    Perhaps corruption is too strong a word in some cases, but certainly cronyism was rife and rarely reported when I lived there.

    “Corruption” is easy to allege/besmirch but difficult to scrub off. If there are back-handers and duplicity then that is concerning and requires justice but without pissing all over the industrious re-build.
