HUH??

‘A Rotorua 17-year-old used gang slogans as he sexually violated a teenage girl – treating her “like a piece of meat”, a court has heard.
Hipirini Mead has been sentenced in the Rotorua District Court to seven years’ jail after earlier pleading guilty to one charge of sexual violation and one of theft.
….Judge McGuire said Mead had sexual intercourse with the girl then violated her with his fist, saying “this is how we do it Mongrel styles”….
..Mead was originally also charged with rape but that charge was dropped…’
Dropped! No doubt in exchange for his guilty plea to the lesser charge of sexual violation. The New Zealand “justice” system disgusts me.

The police will reduce the charge to get a guilty plea. Is the NZ system the same as ours ( NSW ) , as in , if the crim pleads guilty then their sentence is reduced by 25% ? It’s all about stats KG…its so the highest cop/politician in the land can say he has been hard on crime….. as the stats show. It’s all doublespeak…..

  2. Michael in Nelson says:

Yep KG, they don’t want to work that hard and the crims know it. The court decisions are full of reduced sentences for early guilty pleas as well. I know they say it is in part because then the victim doesn’t have to relive the attack and face possible harsh accusations from the defence but that should not lessen the severity of the crime. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_unsure.gif

The klukkers used to lynch them so their wives/daughters could start trying to put it behind them immediately.

Side note: my auntie has a business in that town, and since it’s one of N.Zs top tourist destinations there was a “No Recidivists in the CBD” plan mooted.
Of course the civil rights of Hipirini et al trump those of real people.
        http://www.vuw.ac.nz/staff/dean_knight/rdc2.pdf -I believe council chose option 1.

They tried that crap with my daughter but she wouldn’t have anything to do with it and threw it back in their ( defence lawyers ) faces during her many court cases. In fact at one stage the defence had three lawyers against my lone daughter , can someone explain how that is ‘ justice’ ?

Some background/history for your American readers, KG
    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/what-happens-when-you-scrap-the-welfare-state-new-zealand-has-and-its-economy-is-stronger-but-there-is-a-dark-side–one-in-seven-below-poverty-line–record-numbers-of-people-in-jail–armed-police-on-the-streets–queues-at-charity-food-banks-1428688.html

“Why does a squad of policemen, dressed in black as it moves among those shoppers in Rotorua, carry Glock automatic pistols?” -Those pesky Presbyterians again?

“A New Zealander is now more likely to be the victim of a crime than a citizen of any other country in the industrialised world, including the US.”

[p.s. That was a year before I joined the workforce, and I NEVER saw a hint of welfare-state-scrapping from then ’til now]

    • Ronbo says:

So what’s the point of the article :?:

If you end the welfare state crime goes up :?:

I see the same thing here in the Super Welfare State of Seattle (called the big rock candy mountain by the homeless)- bums everywhere going thru the trash cans and putting the “touch” on the residents and tourists for “change” – and heavily armed police dressed head to toe in black wearing flak jackets and armed with automatic pistols.

I’d say if anything the crime rate in a welfare state goes up….

    • Findalis says:

We have the welfare state and we have 1 in 5 in poverty here. So?

    • The Gantt Guy says:

That was the only time since that fucking arsehole Savage introduced universal welfare dependency for all that any government in New Zealand’s history had ever done anything to stop the advance of the welfare state. And even the moves which were made then, were timid and half-hearted thanks to the cowards Bolger and Shipley. Basically, that article is The Independent was having a crack at Saint Ruth Richardson in particular, and the very concepts of freedom, liberty and self-respect in general.

      • The Gantt Guy says:

Actually, if the stats and figures in that article are accurate (I’ll leave aside for a moment that “living in poverty” is an entirely subjective measure which in parts of Africa means eating perhaps twice a week, but in New Zealand means having only a PlayStation 2 rather than an xBox for your big-screen TV) they do nothing more than prove the commonly-espoused theory on this site that welfare is nothing more than protection money paid to ferals.

  8. Darin says:

Let down by the law,and none of the girl’s male family members sought old fashioned justice either.People are just too civilized in the way we deal with animals these days.
Hanging or at least a close trim with some hedge clippers would have sent a message to the rest of the vermin that if they continue on with their stupidity they will either end up dead or singing soprano.

  9. KG says:

“People are just too civilized in the way we deal with animals these days.”
There’s nothing “civilized” about failing to protect one’s family.
    Substitute “gutless” for civilized.

The price of an innocent life in Holland:
‘LELYSTAD, Netherlands (AFP) – A Dutch court on Monday jailed six teenage boys and a father for up to six years for brutally beating to death an amateur linesman in a case that shocked the football-mad nation.
..The only adult, also the father of one of the accused, Hasan D., was jailed for six years, while five teens were sent to youth detention units for the maximum of two years, six months suspended…’

And on the subject of barbarian assholes:
‘The Santa Monica college shooting reveals an Inconvenient truth or two; the first awkward fact is evident in police refusing to describe this as a ‘college campus shooting’, the second is that both the authorities and the Liberal media have have attempted to conceal the shooter, John Zawahri, is of Middle Eastern birth or origin and was probably Muslim, there’s a strong possibility this shooting was motivated by Islamist fundamentalism..’

“A New Zealander is now more likely to be the victim of a crime than a citizen of any other country in the industrialised world, including the US.”
Another success story for socialism and PC idiocy…..

  13. KG says:

The whole article is a crock of shit. He quotes a bleeding heart story of the mother of five with an unemployed husband, yet no mention of the large amount of taxpayer money they receive in the form of direct payments, housing assistance, medical care and so on. And on.
This has nothing to do with the “post-welfare state”–the welfare state produced this mentality in the first place.
And New Zealand is as far from being a post-welfare state as I am from being a fucking astronaut.

    • dondiego says:

I came across it looking for the armed cops in downtown Rotorua. That article was from six months before I entered the workforce.
My youthful memories of the 90s were all good, Asia fell over, which affected me directly, but there were enough jobs around.

I read somewhere Ruth Richardson (still) holds the N.Z record for the only pol’ to ever decrease $pending.

I loved NZ when I first went there, dondiego. Then I watched it slide downhill. What a waste of a wonderful little country. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_sad.gif
