‘Who Shut Down the Government?’

Thomas Sowell:
“..Since we cannot read minds, we cannot say who — if anybody — “wants to shut down the government.” But we do know who had the option to keep the government running and chose not to. The money voted by the House of Representatives covered everything that the government does, except for ObamaCare.
The Senate chose not to vote to authorize that money to be spent, because it did not include money for ObamaCare..”   (bold mine)

‘There was a meeting of 11 countries at the UN last week whose aim is to promote homosexuality at the United Nations.  New Zealand was one of the countries represented.
..Aware of these challenges, the United States is funding homosexual activists abroad. The Global Equality Fund, which has disbursed $7 million since its launch in 2011, has expanded with the help of Nordic countries and private sector partners. It was always going to be ugly and nasty, for years these irritable toddlers have been spending other peoples money without any restraint, respect or shame. They will eventually get their way because enough either don’t care, can’t be bothered or are supportive of them.

On the radio the other day i heard someone say this isn’t the big fight but the looming fight that will shake the world if it doesn’t go well is the debt-ceiling battle. Apparently if America defaults on its debts the world will lose confidence that America can repay its debts.

I had a good long laugh at that, do people out in the world really think they can repay 17 trillion, even if they actually wanted to? Seriously?

Whatever the US government owes to any foreign country, you can forget about getting it back, it’s never coming.

The real problem, I think, is that huge creditors such as China and the Saudis will extract their pound of flesh by directly influencing U.S. foreign policy. Hell, there are plenty of signs that’s happening right now.
