Just like Christians in Africa and the M.E. then?

‘A former U.S. congressman who visited camps housing tens of thousands of people displaced by communal violence in western Myanmar is warning that minority Rohingya Muslims face a life-threatening lack of medical care and live in fear of attack.
….”It’s not because of anything these people have done. It’s because of who they are, their ethnicity and the God they pray to. That’s why they are being targeted.” (Andrews told The Associated Press)..’
The biter bit. Why is my sympathy meter pegged at zero?

A story that five years ago would have earned you the title “tin foil nut”.

Today? Business as usual. What can you say? If it was never a human and had no rights then it’s no different from a removed appendix.
Either it was a person and you killed it (later to mourn it) or it was an unwanted organ in your body fit only to be disposed of by whatever means that medical waste is gotten rid of.

You can’t have it both ways.

  1. The thing about aborted babies being equivalent to hair clippings or clipped nails is that it is a lie told to ourselves so that we can comfortably ignore the truth. It is a thin veneer that is all too easily seen through should the right context arise. This is what happened to mothers who aborted their children in Philadelphia a few years back. The hospital would take these aborted children and then just toss the remains in the trash with the rest of the hospital’s garbage. When the mother’s learned what had happened to their aborted fetuses, they were no longer fetuses. The facade faded and the mother’s were livid about the callous disposal of their children’s bodies.

So far as I am aware, nobody has ever been offended when their clipped hair was swept up and unceremoniously dumped into the Barber’s dumpster. But clipped hair isn’t alive. Neither are nail clippings. But aborted children? Not so much. By disguising uncomfortable truths we can lie to ourselves and avoid the guilt of having murdered our own children. So long as the illusion is maintained, everyone is happy. Everyone that is, but the aborted child whose individual rights are lost in the lie. This is the horror of Roe v. Wade, a horror that even the Jane Doe who brought the case now acknowledges. One day, the mothers who aborted their children will meet them again, and on that day they will have to explain to their aborted progeny and to God why they did what they did.

I don’t want to see any of them punished, William. Lord knows, very many of them are carrying that burden already.
I’d just like to see us, as a society, acknowledge the fact that abortion is killing a human being and have the debate from that starting point.

  2. KG says:

”Egypt imposes biggest death sentence in history’
    On Muslim Brotherhood supporters.
    I call that a good start…

I’m of two minds about democracy in Egypt. If the MB has the votes then the non-MB Egyptians should stake out their turf and secede from the nation.

It’s democracy or it ain’t. Having a military coup because the nutters had the numbers goes against the whole principle of the thing.

Split the country and give the nutters their half. Then you can make like Israel and respond with overwhelming force when they get too big for their britches. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif

  3. KG says:

Democracy cannot work anywhere muslims have the vote. It’s merely a recipe for suicide.

    • GW says:

I doubt that is true. Give Iranians a vote and an open election and the ragheads would be out on the street in a minute. No group has done more to promote secularism among Iran’s young than the mad mullahs. The problem in the Middle East is that, outside of Israel, democracy generally means one vote one time. At any rate, democracy is not a panacea for the problems of Islamic societies – and short of nuclear detonation, I really can’t think of any.

  4. Michael in Nelson says:

Not a recipe for suicide for the Muslims, just everyone else. What REALLY pisses me off is the useless idiots that don’t see that. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_negative.gif

Secession of the sane. Build a border around the nutters. Guard it viciously.

You might note that the same solution can apply to our local progressives.

  5. Mathew says:

That’s Burma isn’t it, didn’t know they had a muslim population. Oh well, that’s their problem, if the former congressman wants to do something about it, go ahead then, pass the hat around to your fellow lefties and start a petition or something.

Don’t bother coming my way though, you’ll just get something about a rodents backside.
