New Armour? It looks like the Americans need a new fire control radar system that cannot be jammed by the Ruskies. If this link is to be believed the USS Donald Cook, a Tomahawk cruise missile capable American destroyer equipped with the Aegis system, failed to get a ‘lock’ for their defensive means when buzzed by a Russian SU-24.

I guess Obambi really is Vlad’s bitch now.

I really, really hope that’s not true.

If true it is bad news. On the bright side it might keep Obambi, our Nobel peace prize laureate, from military involvement in the Ukraine. He is just stupid enough to think he can fight a war on the other side of the world against a real army…. just to save face. He’s better off campaigning in Golden Butte.

The idea of that fool having the power to commit the U.S. military to an adventure against Russia or China is the stuff of nightmares.
And the Joint Chiefs don’t have the balls to say him nay.

I don’t think he’ll do it,at least not now.So far the only aid we have given the Ukraine are some MRE’s and those were trucked in by commercial cargo instead of flown in on a fleet of C-17’s.

A Reagan or Bush would have already delivered multiples of the Javelin and Stinger III’s which would effectively end any advantage Russian Air or Armor would have.

Putin is probably going to see just how far he can move before Europe takes exception to it.He isn’t worried about Obama.

Mind you, the report doesn’t ring true:
‘..After this incident had “Donald Cook” as reported in foreign mass media, quickly made a call at a port in Romania. There, 27 crew members allegedly submitted their resignation. It is said that all 27 people had written that they had no intention of needlessly putting their lives on the line. This is indirectly confirmed by a statement from the Pentagon, which said this action left the crew of the American ship “demoralized.”…..’
What statement from the Pentagon? Source? I don’t believe the Pentagon would put out such a statement, even if the reported events actually happened.
And American servicemen don’t resign mid-deployment.

      Russian propaganda?
BTW – this is not the only reference I have come across to the ‘jamming’ of the Aegis by the SU-24, I just sort let it slip by thinking that it was unlikely. Also most seem to quote the same article.

I saw a doco recently that featured the rhinocerous beetle vs ants. The beetle is huge, fiercely armoured and the ants are tiny, fleshy little things. I could not imagine how the beetle would be brought down. The beetles’ monster armour plates were, by necessity, hinged so the smart ants invaded the grooves between the plates and brought the big creature down. Do we ever really learn from nature or are we too “smart”? Just wondering.

Much too smart, Mara. Which is why we’re so frequently wrong-footed.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gif
