‘Britain has just witnessed a political arrest.

Where is the liberal outrage?
‘This is not the first time that the police have invented a right not to be offended, and chosen to elevate it over the basic freedoms we used to take for granted. I often wonder, as a Hampshire ratepayer, whether my local constabulary might not spend less time on politics and more on catching criminals (it hit a low point over Christmas when it chose to investigate for racism the man who had put up this sign)…’          Daniel Hannan

  1. What we are really talking about are thought crimes. Long has the left sought to dictate what you think. Orwell called this desire the desire to enact thought crimes as described in his novel, 1984. Rather than to prohibit behavior, which is the rightful place of the law, the left seeks to regulate thought in order to change the individual’s schema. If thought itself can be regulated, then the individual will be lost to the groupthink promoted by the left. This is why the left is hard at work attempting to discern what is really in a person’s head. Thus far they can retrieve blurry images that the person is currently concentrating on, but not much beyond that at present.

When even mouthing the words of a historical figure is a crime that could potentially deprive you of two years of your life, that tells you how far the process has gone. This means that you have no right to your own opinion and that everything you say is totally dependant upon the will of the state to allow it. In short, this is government run amok.

The truth is that our freedoms are dying in the West. Our thoughts are being regulated by law, and even historical fact is no longer tolerated by authority. We are moving inexorably toward a police state and tyrannical rule where dissent is viewed as treason. Sooner or later, those who live under such tyranny shall revolt. And woe to the politicians on that day for they will likely find themselves standing before a wall and in front of a number of gun muzzles as Ceausescu did.

Lousy left-wing UK government. Where are the Torys when you need ’em…

    …oh, wait a minute…

  3. KG says:

“And woe to the politicians on that day for they will likely find themselves standing before a wall and in front of a number of gun muzzles as Ceausescu did.”
And that will be a happy, happy day, William. I just hope I’m alive to see it.

  4. Lara says:

“for evil to triumph good men only need to do nothing”

    that rings a bell…

The Anglosphere badly needs a series of revolutions and the PURGE of Leftists from public life.

“Britain has just witnessed a political arrest.”

    and “Thought-crime.”

None of this is a surprise to any whom have been paying attention. So it really is not news. It is more a recording of another notch advanced on the Prog come-along.

What is amazing is that we who understand this still lack the will (and maybe courage) to group together to stop it’s advances. What will it take for a group of liberty lovers to not only prevent the next ratcheting, but to find ways to slip a whole slew of these damned societal winches off our necks?

I am on the road right now. Does anyone here have a copy of of Kubrik’s “A Clockwork Orange?”

I’m inclined to make a montage to fit your title here KG. I’d include the following scenes.

    1. where the interior minister tells the warden in front of the prisoners of the need to find a way to reduce the prison population so as to “make room for political prisoners.”

    2. where former traitorous droog [gang member] informs a helpless Alex that he is indeed now a policeman (prior to torturing Alex).

    3. At the end where the same minister, who had come under political fire for what happened to Alex, is now ready to release a repaired Alex on the innocent public with the following piece of dialogue to underscore what is expected of him in his new paid position:
    “You do understand me Alex?
“As clear as an unmuddied lake Fred.”

Do you suppose such with such a montage it could be made clear to a vast population of subjects that the roles of many Alexes are being filled by Muslim invaders throughout the West?

    I’m just sayin’.
