A note for Andrei

over at NZ Conservative (I’d have left this comment at that site, but their comments login is a pain in the ass):
Apologists for the Soviets have a long and malodorous history, and you, Andrei, are one of them.

  1. I have often wondered what kind of person acts in that manner. On the one hand, he claims to be a Christian, but he excuses the terror initiated by the Russians. Vladimir Putin was a life long KGB agent. He pestered the local KGB office where he grew up to join them. His family has a long history with Soviet intelligence going all the way back to the time of Lenin’s widow, and Andrei makes excuses for him. I assume that Andrei came to the West as a refugee from Soviet tyranny, but his behavior says otherwise. He speaks as a party loyalist.

I would recommend that he read the Gulag Archipelago and Kolyma Tales, but I doubt that it would penetrate. Frankly, he sounds like Zhirinovsky. He rejects freedom and condemns America. I have met Russian ex-pats before who have lived under Soviet tyranny. None of them say the kinds of things that Andrei says, and all of then despise Communism having lived under it.

Knowing what occurred in the holy places of Russia and knowing that Putin was a part of it, how can he ignore that and still call himself a Christian?

Putin says that’s he is a Christian, this is the reason :!:

      Unbelievable, but true :!:

…and not only a Christian, but the Defender of the Faith :!:

Of course, if you have studied Russian history, the alliance between the Russian Orthodox Church and State goes back to the founding of Moscow as the center of the Russian nation.

The original Russian Church-State alliance was at Kiev, but in came the Golden Horde and destroyed Kiev as the capital of Russia, and the Boyars of Moscow sucked up to them until they were powerful enough to drive them out.

So what developed in Moscow once freed of the Tartars was a semi-oriental state complete with an authoritarian ruler named Czar (the Russian translation of Caesar), who was head of the Russian Orthodox Church, a kind of Pope-Emperor, ruling over a vast empire.

When the Communists took over Russia in 1917, they murdered the Imperial Family, and most of the priests and churches. But they soon discovered that the Gospel of Marx only went so far, so under Stalin, the Russian Orthodox Church was allowed to rise once, albeit still under state control where many priests were KGB agents.

Then Communism collapses in 1991 and a new secular government under Yeltsin attempts to govern Russia – and falls flat on its face in anarchy and dozens of political parties.

Next comes Putin and The New Order in Russia. The former KGB agent has a “Jesus Moment” and discovers he was always a Christian. The new president channels vast funds to the Russian Orthodox and Christianity once again becomes the state religion.

Putty Putin is very practical – the Russian people have clearly rejected Marxism, but Christianity of the traditional Russian sort is tailor made for the new republic and its ambitious ruler who finds in Peter The Great a role model.

Thus Russia has sailed the circle from Russian Empire to Communist State to Russian Republic back to Russian Empire under Czar Putty Putin I – the defender of country and church. GOD SAVE THE CZAR!

Russia – be it a Communist State, democratic republic or empire will always be the enemy of the West, as the Russian believe Moscow is the Third Rome and their duty is to conquer the world.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gif

One of the greatest ironies in history is how many Russian Jews supported the revolution and the Bolsheviks.

    • KG says:

Look how many American Jews vote Democrat….I find that almost inexplicable.

    Hi KG,

I’ve been holding off commenting on this thread, but now that it’s not current, I’ll just say that Disqus can’t be that difficult to logon on to, surely? You just use your Google account that you needed to use to log on to Blogger, which we used for commenting previously.

Also, this situation on the blog is quite difficult. I’ve been trying to make sense of it, and the direction I go when I do so is disturbing. I’m having trouble believing what my head is telling me.

    • KG says:

Lucia Maria, I used to have a Disqus login, and when I try to use the Google login, I get redirected to Disqus and asked to enter that password. Which I no longer have and have no intention of recovering.
I’m fairly pig-headed about this sort of thing inasmuch as I refuse to jump through hoops simply in order to leave a comment, on any site.

As for the situation on the blog, I suspect your head is telling you what bitter experience taught me and Gecko some time ago.
