The clerks looked at me in shock and one said, “Captain Weaver is a pretty mellow fellow, what did you say to him, sarge?”
Fast forward a couple of years to another military base. I’m setting at the breakfast table in the NCO/Officer Mess and Weaver walks in and makes a bee line for my table, but he’s all smiles
