‘Lawyers who wasted millions of public money pursuing false claims that British troops murdered and tortured Iraqi detainees should now face disciplinary action, senior Government figures have suggested.
Ministers condemned the “shameful” conduct of solicitors who brought the claims, which were yesterday dismissed as “deliberate lies” by a £31million, five year inquiry.
Last night the Ministry of Defence said it was looking at recouping part of the legal aid fees which were paid to the lawyers who represented the now discredited ‘victims’….’ Link

I have been saying for years that the legal system in all western countries is corrupt to the core and winning/losing is about how much money you have and how much the lawyer can lie. Hang all of them including judges.

Lawyers seem to go to be politicians. Seeing a pattern?
If you wish to shoot the lawyers (not necessarily a bad thing at all) you ought to start with the legal aid parasitic ones. Legal aid in NZ has been an exploited system for years. The typical (not all) legal aid lawyer is a bimbo girlie lawyer with average grades at law school. These bimbos crawl from the leafy suburbs into a law school where they perfect lip-glossing themselves while aiming to save/change the world from imagined wrongs. I kid you not. When these bimbos (who are about 70% of all law graduates) get a job they continue to be unwitting students as they are handed crap files about difficult people, yet due to legal aid the poor old taxpayer meets the costs of their posturing. It is a rort whereby middle class girlies feign concerns for people they wouldn’t have previously crapped on! In case you’ve failed to notice I am a trifle grumpy today.

I enjoyed that mini-rant.
On the pony again…had a few drinks with some grumpy old lawyers last night and the subject of how ungifted young law graduates today are, arose. The general agreement is that so many of the graduates, particularly the females, have assumed that a law degree is something akin to a sociology degree. Hence, these freshly scrubbed, overly perfumed young creatures arrive in law offices to “make a difference and give everyone access to justice!” These idiots think justice is a halcyon state where everyone smiles at each other, because underneath the quest for it lies the misapprehension that nobody is ever wrong! Nobody deserves to come second.. Nobody is bad or evil. Nobody should ever be accountable. The result is crap!
The good thing about female graduates is that their bio clocks dictate they require a sperm donor by about age 38 and they desert the profession to laud it over the other mums that they are former lawyers of quality and of course pretension. (Read: Airheads.) By age 38 any man they can snare for the purposes of reproduction is usually one who would’ve been far below the horizons of acceptability when they were aspirant students or in “practice.” (Snigger!)
I’d rather they were shipped off to pakistan or some other muslim shithole to peddle their wares over there, jail would be too nice for some of these lawyers.
