‘Greek election leaves Eurozone in crisis: Far Left sweeps to victory with vow to end austerity years as EU braces for ‘catastrophe’… Daily Mail UK
Yeah, that’ll do it all right…..elect a commie asshole and refuse to pay debts. Not that ordinary Greeks are blameless for her poor economic performance, far from it. But this convulsion may be the beginning of a Europe-wide rebellion against the tyrants in Brussells and whatever the outcome may be if that happens, the alternative is a slow slide into serfdom.
Bring it on!

World not sliding into anarchy fast enough?

Greece it up a little!

Seriously, though. When the majority of voters believe that endless riches can be pillaged from the ballot box then the end is inevitable. How many job creators or entrepreneurs do you think are going to stick around a country like that?
Further, how many are going to stick around the EU when just a few parasite nations can/will drag down the rest?

Well if the stupid bastards can’t figure out just who’s pockets the money is coming from, then they get what’s coming to them.

Should be interesting how this plays out, wonder if Brussells will replace the entire Greek government this time around?

  3. Brown says:

Repeat after me. “Socialism works, we just didn’t do it properly”.

Just another great example of why the EU is worse than a bad idea.

If the Greeks default , they may not like the actual reality that they will have to live within their means. EU austerity may not have been so bad.. On the other hand , this does bring an opportunity for change.. Yea right, Cuba for you it is, next!

When they default and leave the Euro their Drachma will be worth very little. This will sort out their pension and bureaucracy bill that exceeds their GDP by multiples of ten and will once again make it a very cheap place for Europe to holiday. Unfortunately the communist government will do its best to inflate the wages and welfare bill and stuff it up big time.

      • As much as I’ve hated watching what the constutionally-unqualified, Muslim-loving, affirmative action, homosexual excuse for a president here has done and said, I hope the full eight years will be a stark lesson to all but the dimmest of U.S. maroons in Applied Lunatic Subversion. The insanity of this guy’s interventions and arming of one of a variety of crazed Muslim killers will sully the brand, with luck. Greece, like California and New York, will be an object lesson in what you get by playing around with communists and other rapacious statists.

The world is still besotted with communism, utopianism, and the revolt against arithmetic. I am fond of repeating Franklin’s superb dictum: “Experience keeps a dear school but a fool will learn in no other.” And for millions of dimwits school is IN, my friends.

  5. caleb says:

Classic thing is that these socialists know this and are going for half their debt to be wiped… Will be interesting to see what happens.

Sounds like they will need lots of police to collect taxes, lots of unproductive voters to look after. Might come in handy in case of civil unrest, also.

I suspect the hammer is going to come down hard very, very soon.

The party line will be “only loyal citizens should receive their pension” and then the witch hunt for anyone not marching in lockstep will begin.

Watch carefully. What happens in Greece today is what’s planned for us tomorrow. A testing ground for weaponised socialism in service of the new world order.

I’ve saved that quote. Because it looks, feels and tastes like a prophecy that is all too accurate.

Wombat I think you are spot on.

The trial balloon of confiscating depositors money in Cyprus was also one…. and at the G20 in Brisbane it has been pushed through as the way to deal with bank failures in the future. Quietly the one world government is testing ways and means to control the masses.

  9. PC says:

The trouble is, with unemployment running at 28% or so, and a horde of retirees aged 55 and virtually everyone else on the minimum wage and working for the Government, there’s no one to meaningfully tax. My prediction, Greece tries to play the hard-man, gets booted out of the EU and reverts to the dreaded Drachma, Germany forces a liquidation sale and Greece gives the Central African Republic a run for it’s money (or lack thereof) to be the shittiest place on the planet. Unlike the shining socialist story, Venezuela, Greece produces pretty much nothing except dirty rags and a bit of tourism. Good one Greece, you voted for abject failure. Don’t come a knocking again when it all turns to custard.

  10. Mathew says:

I don’t really know much about all this EU stuff, but the way i see it, Greece will either pay its debts and live within their means or they’ll leave the EU and still live within their means. Either one doesn’t seem very painless so best get on with it.

  11. tranquil says:

My money is on the troika bailing Greece out yet again.

Merkel will huff and puff but she will cave in.

The Eurocrats will do *anything* to save their pet project (the Eurozone) and if that means shoveling vast amounts of good money after bad then “so be it” (in their view).

    • KG says:

I reckon you could be right, Tanquil. Brussells will do anything to prevent the gravy train from falling apart.
On the other hand, they may choose to make an example of Greece……

    • Mathew says:

You’re probably right, after all when last did we see a modern day eurabian feeling uncomfortable about tossing other people’s money away. Merkel will give it away cos it’s not really her money is it. It’s not going to be Frau Merkel’s bank account that’ll take the hit so they’ll easily get over pissing away the taxpayers money.
