BRAVO!

Mark Levin eviscerates Obama and the GOP at CPAC:
‘Speaking directly to the president, Levin said,  “Let me say this to you Mr Obama, you may have a pen and you may have a phone, no doubt an Obama phone, but we have the constitution of the United States. And we, not you, we own that constitution, we own this country, and you Mr Obama do not have any legitimate authority to fundamentally transform what does not belong to you.”..’
On the GOP: “It’s time to remove the old bulls and bring in the patriots”.

The best speech I’ve seen at CPAC, by far.

    Your link is not working.

“I’ve concluded that the Democrats are a party with a totalitarian bias,” said Levin. “But I think the Republicans have surrendered to it…

It is not news that the Dems are totalitarian………..or that the spineless Republicans in both Congress and the Senate have rolled over to each power grab by Obama, but at least someone is saying it.

Well, we’re pretty much at the make it or break it stage with Obama’s acts on immigration. http://www.wolfhowling.blogspot.com/2015/02/immigration-liberty-existential.html

‘MULTIPLE REPORTS that House Speaker John Boehner has cut a deal to pass a long-term funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security, without ties to rolling back President Obama’s executive action on immigration, reignites rumblings among conservatives of a possible coup.’

    • GW says:

And there damn well should be if Republicans cave on this. But I do not see the problem as Boehner. It is McConnel, I think.

Levin is succint, but he’s advancing the “new” repubs as the solution, when this group had to adapt to the deecee method of business, which George describes.

Bismarck said it best over 150 years ago: (WIKIPEDIA)

In September 1862, when the Prussian Landtag was refusing to approve an increase in military spending desired by King Wilhelm I, the king appointed Bismarck as Minister President and Foreign Minister. A few days later, Bismarck appeared before the Landtag’s Budget Committee and stressed the need for military preparedness. He concluded his speech with the following statement:[1] “The position of Prussia in Germany will not be determined by its liberalism but by its power … Prussia must concentrate its strength and hold it for the favorable moment, which has already come and gone several times. Since the treaties of Vienna, our Squad have been ill-designed for a healthy body politic. Not through speeches and majority decisions will the great questions of the day be decided – that was the great mistake of 1848 and 1849 – but by iron and blood (Eisen und Blut).”

Although Bismarck was an outstanding diplomat, the phrase “blood and iron” has become a popular description of his foreign policy partly because he did on occasion resort to war in a highly effective manner to aid in the unification of Germany and the expansion of its continental power.

Levin was outstanding for sure. I couldn’t help but note how often the applause for anything he said was, well, tepid. I can’t help but take that as a definitive indicator of where the “Conservative” Political Action Committee is “at,” as we say here (U.S.). Ben Carson’s reception, by contrast, was enthusiastic. A nice, intelligent fellow but no candle to Levin IMO. Yet the crowd fawned over him. At least they (or some) booed the blancmange Jebba the Bush. Ann Coulter didn’t get invited let it be said. I can’t say that CPAC has much interest for me.
