In NZ, it pays to be brown…….

‘A trust that owns two charter schools has bought its students a $100,000 waka to help with their learning.
He Puna Marama, which received $6 million of government funding for its two Whangarei schools over two years, but also gets revenue from elsewhere, says it bought the 22-person, 14m carved kauri waka with money specially “put aside” for the purpose…’
(For non-NZ readers, a “waka” is a primitive dugout canoe with some fancy carving. They often need to be rescued by people in real boats)

NZ seems to be committing suicide – government-imposed suicide (is it really murder when the government does it to you?) – with the ugly horification (ie maorification) of everything. The taxpayer-funding of this canoe is just another example of this.

      It sure is, Barry.

        I believe it’s closer to murder-suicide.

The deadbeat wife beater of the relationship (.gov) starts to get the impression that his spouse is about ready to take the kids and leave him. He’s already up to his neck with the loansharks so he decides to take her on a drive and then line up a truck.

I believe N.Z is truly “an emerging 3rd world country”. Australia is only better IMO because of the wage. I’ve been explaining Genocide via population displacement above replacement to a few of the young blokes at work.

Hope H.R doesn’t hear of it.

On the subject of $100k for a canoe I believe it to be the same as the long-suffering white taxpaying Americans:govt is just a looting scheme.
Q-What does govt do for you?
A-Loots your pay-packet, taxes your purchases, taxes taxes (gst on reg etc)

Saw an estimate of a working man in N.Z with a registered car and dog and mortgage being taxed half of what he earns. The canoe is just an OTT obscene example.

One moment the schools have ‘hungry kids that can’t learn’ and now they have money for floating logs. This place is FUBAR!

You guys and your belly-aching over the shenanigans of the NZ government.

I’ll let you into a little secret. Guys like us all over the Western world are dismayed with the antics of our so-called leaders.

I used to get fed-up to the back teeth over the bullshit that went on in Japan, and the political corruption. New Zealand would be so much better, I thought. Twelve years later, and here we are! (Mind you, it’s pretty small stuff compared with the horrors of Fukushima and the 100,000 or so displaced persons still languishing in “temporary” housing 4 years later.)

Maybe I’m just getting older and slowing turning into my father…

Follow the money. Don’t even bother opening the betting book that Uncle Rongo and his cronies “on the school committee” used a waka as a pretext to getting their nabbers on the dosh.
