We got the commie out of TV3!!

That’s certainly something to celebrate — there’s nothing to celebrate in the so-called “budget”

  3. Pascal says:

This policy demand is not based on science but on behavior out of pagan ages long gone and believed dead. Worse than sad. It’s beyond the pale.

President Obama delivered the keynote address at the United States Coast Guard Academy commencement Wednesday in New London, Connecticut. In his commencement speech, Obama warned graduates climate change is one of the largest threats they will have to face as they defend the United States and our nation’s interests abroad.

In his speech, Obama said denying climate change or refusing to deal with it is negligence and “dereliction of duty.” — source

    • KG says:

Well, he’d know all about negligence and dereliction of duty, wouldn’t he?

    • Warren Tooley says:

Pascal, want to outwit a climate change believer? Say, why is it that in New Zealand we pay an ETS, a tax on electricity to grow trees but the money goes overseas? How does this ETS help the NZ environment? That seems to make people think. They wouldn’t mind if it meant more trees in NZ. But when it doesn’t help our own environment, people see something is fundamentally flawed.

And it is pagan. We now have animal rights people saying eating meat is bad for the environment. We were warned in 1 Timothy or 2 Timothy that in the last days their would be liars who would warn against eating meat, and marriage. Both things affect the environment, according to these climate people. It is straight paganism, we were warned.

And ever since this ETS, we have had deficits. We had 15 years of surpluses till these people came on. So, maybe God hasn’t blessed NZ because of this. Its just a maybe, but it makes me begin to wonder.

      • The Gantt Guy says:

“And ever since this ETS, we have had deficits. We had 15 years of surpluses till these people came on”

Wrong. The ETS was introduced by the National Party government in 2008. The prior Labour Party-led government (1999 – 2008) had run spectacular deficits, particularly in the 2005-08 period, culminating with New Zealand having the honour of being the first country in the world into recession in 2008, formally entering recession a full 8 months before the Lehmann Brothers House of Cards collapsed.

        • Warren Tooley says:

Gantt, no I don’t agree with that at all. Even Bill English said that our debt was $10 billion till he took over, and it is at least $65 billion now (its more than 65 billion, but things like ACC have a big surplus, to offset it). According to the economist’s global debt clock, from 2004 till 2008 (doesn’t go further than that), their was a surplus in all but one year.

I can remember reading the treasury figures and again and again it showed a surplus during those years. So if I’m wrong that means the treasury’s figures are nothing but lies, and can’t be trusted.

It seems to me that anytime it has to do with Labour’s era, everything about it has to be bad. I’m not saying Labour is fantastic, only that I look at things objectively.

And I can remember the Nats and Act demanding a big tax cut as they were saying we had surpluses and its time to give it back to NZers. So now they say, their never was a surplus to begin with. So what is your source. Its probably something Act or National said. And why do you have a problem with my statement against the ETS anyways.

If the link doesn’t work, type in “global debt clock” for my source.

          https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CBwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.economist.com%2Fcontent%2Fglobal_debt_clock&ei=psBfVZSqOMz58QXA94GgDw&usg=AFQjCNHvjMNpSf6HW8EbYs89UGDbK5Plpg

          • Warren Tooley says:

And although the Nasts implemented the ETS, this was pushed and pushed by the Greens.

            • The Gantt Guy says:

Don’t get me wrong, Warren, I am opposed to pretty-much everything the current government has done. Just as I’m opposed to pretty-much everything the former Labour-led government did. The ETS is but one affront to decency, among a thousand.

My source for the recession (where once again, New Zealand led the world), is here:

              http://www.treasury.govt.nz/economy/overview/2010/04.htm

              I quote:

The New Zealand economy entered recession in early 2008, before the effects of the global financial crisis set in later in the year.

I’m not suggesting there’s anything good about a National-led government or a Labour-led government. My political philosophy is LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE ,and I don’t see any politician among the 122 mendacious scum who disgrace our Parliament, who represents me. They’re all big-government statist socialist globalist pick-pocketing busy-body do-gooders. The only difference is I expect politicians from Labour, the Greens, Mana, etc. to be big-government statist socialist globalist pick-pocketing busy-body do-gooders, whereas I expect different from National, ACT and Conservative (and yes, even Winston First) MPs.

              • Warren Tooley says:

As far as the big picture is concerned we have common ground. First of all, I am for silver and gold as money. I am not for a fiat currency, if you’ve read some of my entries about the exchange rate, only with gold and silver as money only then will our exports and imports be equal, it won’t happen with a central bank. 2ndly if we had no national debt, I think it is quite possible that we can abolish the income tax. In the meantime, I think we can have a maximium tax rate of 20%. But this would be if they did a combination of other things correct.

Now in regards to the ETS, the point I’m making is the ETS is a complete and utter waste of money, that does absolutely no good to the environment.

As for National and Labour, its a choice between drinking poison that will kill you in 5 years, or drinking poison that will kill you in 20 years.

In regards to the statistics and the global recession. Warren G Harding entered as president with a 12% unemployment rate, in 6 months, that rate dropped to 6%. He cut income tax from 70%+ to 24% on the top rate. To support this reality he had to cut government administration jobs by 50%, and he had to raise taxes on sales. In 6 months he made a big difference. This ETS is what I blame for hampering the economic recovery, as it is adding the cost of government administration, and you have to cut govt administration to be able to afford tax cuts.

Finally, in regards to those surplus figures, they were OBERAC figures. If I made a $10 million profit, and put $8 million into new equipment. I’ve made a $10 million profit, but have only a small increase in cash.

And this is how those surpluses were. A $8 billion surplus didn’t reduce the debt by $8 billion, some of it was simply an appreciation of government assets, but still the debt did go down in most years. But it is possible that their could have been a cash shortfall, while their was an OBERAC surplus at the same time.

And neither will you. After all, what anti-authoritarian would be compelled to seek a position of power?
Even if they did, voters are typically collectivist minded, so what body of voters would be compelled to install them?

Quite. It’s a kind of cultural schizophrenia, isn’t it?

  6. Ronbo says:

What reactionary scum are the LEFT!

    REACTIONARIES! I shout!

Like the Bourbons of old France, the modern Left has learned nothing and forgotten nothing…How many decades have they been on this Global Warming/Climate Change page? Since about 1970? How many decades have they been on the civil rights kick? Since about 1950?

I think the vast majority have moved on to other worries like getting knocked in the back of the head by racist blacks playing the “Polar Bear Game” on innocent whites in the big cities of America.

The bottom line is that Globally the Left is against science and technology…This is their right; however it is not their right to use the power of government to stop progress.

Well, we know what happened to the reactionary Bourbons of old France – they lost their heads (literally!) during the Reign of Terror 1793/94. The streets of Paris ran red with the blood of the dead French aristocracy and the Bourbon reactionaries when they refused to allow France to join the march of civilization.

Yes, it took a Robespierre and a Reign of Terror to enable the modern French Republic – and I daresay the contemporary reactionary Leftists either have to get out of the way of science, technology and the forward march of Western Civilization – or face new Robespierres and a new Reign of Terror.

    • KG says:

I’ve been saying for a long time that the left and islam are totalitarian bedfellows.
Leftists would sooner ally themselves with those scum than with freedom-loving conservatives and if push came to shove they’d happily do the jihadis work for them.
Anyone who thinks leftists wouldn’t herd their enemies into the gas ovens – if given the opportunity – is naive and uninformed.

My mother always referred to John Wayne as the “Duke.” I understand his real Christian name was Marion. Hardly suits?

    • KG says:

      Hardly.

      • Wombat says:

Reminds me of that song “A boy named Sue.”

        • Ronbo says:

John Wayne got the nickname because of his dog Duke.

The two were often seen together when he was a boy and people started calling him “Big Duke” the owner of “Little Duke.”

In time the “Big” was dropped and Wayne nickname became simply, “Duke.”

  9. G P says:

Anything that isn’t islam needs to fight back – now! I can’t believe the Pope has fallen for the islamic shtick.

Even worse now is the “equality” of islam with Christianity – Chrislam – fools!

The first of three videos exposing Chrislam by a former muslim:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4NpiKBgj74

I had a chat with one of our managers, a Brit, at work yesterday and were we discussing how Thatcher would never have allowed islam predominate and sharia courts would never have heard the starting gun.

  10. Ronbo says:

    KG said,

“I’ve been saying for a long time that the left and islam are totalitarian bedfellows.

Anyone who thinks leftists wouldn’t herd their enemies into the gas ovens – if given the opportunity – is naive and uninformed.”

The Left and Islam are strange bedfellows but not so strange when they both have as a prime directive the destruction of Western Civilization.

Yes, they will turn on one another…but only after Western Civilization is destroyed.

  11. Ronbo says:

I’ve completed Chapter One of my new novel, “The Study of Revenge.”

This is just the first draft, but the reader can see where I’m going with the plot.

Now if we can just get that up to “leaving in droves in fear of their f@#king lives” we’ll be getting somewhere.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

  13. Wombat says:

Last night I went to see the new Mad Max movie.

As a fan of the original series I was expecting the standard Hollywood sequelitis betrayelfest.

I was wrong. I expect I’ll go and see this move two or three times more.

    Just. Incredible. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gif

    • The Gantt Guy says:

Really? I was going to skip it because of the terrible reviews it’s had (feminazi propaganda). If you enjoyed it, then I’ll give it a go! http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif

      • KG says:

        What Gantt said.
        I’m surprised, Wombat.

        • Wombat says:

          Honestly, I didn’t see it.

I don’t want to start blurting out spoilers, but if you’re referring to the Takimag pseudo-review then it wasn’t representative of my experience.

The psychotics were indeed comprised entirely of men. Warrior classes are like that, funnily enough.

If you go into it looking to be upset at something then odds are you’ll be upset. If you sit back, enjoy the ride and remember to breathe once in a while then you’ll have a great time.

Personally I think the Takimag folks were jumping at shadows on this one.

  14. Cadwallader says:

The msm this morning has been happily spouting the “news” that queers in Ireland can now marry…so what? Who cares? Yet this is the headline!

    • KG says:

Exactly. Trivia rulez, Cad. It sure beats the effort real news would take, eh?

      • Wombat says:

The MSM indoctrinates the masses by ordering news in a fashion as to proclaim what is and is not important.

Putting gay marriage on the front page is not the lazy option. It’s a deliberate message that says “gay marriage is the most important issue of the day”, or at best, “we’d rather you focus on this, than…”

  15. Darin says:

Just watched the documentary “The Hornet’s Nest” a first person frontlines view of the war in Afghanistan as brought to us by war correspondent Mike Boettcher and his son Carlos who spent a year imbedded with the US Army in Afghanistan.

    https://youtu.be/jMe6TPGojkE

It’s an emotional rollercoaster with a very sad ending that leaves you in amazement asking yourself why?Why after all these men and women go through do they keep going back?

    • KG says:

“Why after all these men and women go through do they keep going back?”
      It’s what warriors do.

      • Wombat says:

I suspect they stay because life on the front lines of the US military is more free of regimentation and oversight than life in the US itself.

  16. Michael in Nelson says:

I won’t post a link to it but there is a twitter post from @TheDemocrats for Memorial Day in the USA. It is a picture of the POTUS eating an ice cream cone with a horde of photographers int he background. The post has been rubbished just about everywhere, even by Jake Tapper from CNN.
