‘Prime Minister bows to pressure to accept more refugees

The Government will today bow to public pressure and allow hundreds more Syrian refugees to seek sanctuary in New Zealand.
…Amnesty, the United Nations, Catholic bishops, former Prime Minister Helen Clark and local mayors publicly urged the Government to do more…
….No figure has yet been decided but it’s understood the one-off emergency intake – perhaps up to 500 – will occur over a period of three years….’
There is no widespread “public pressure to accept more refugees”, merely a carefully orchestrated campaign by the media and groups who will profit in various ways by the intake. And idiot bleeding heart SJW’s on social media.
Of course, the news item shows a photograph of a cute little boy, not one of the overwhelming majority of these “refugees” who are young males, the demographic doing most of the fighting and killing in the M.E.
Key was always going to give this idiocy the green light since his U.N. masters require it of him but by appearing to be reluctant he avoids the charge that he’s obeying the U.N.
At a time when NZ is teetering on the brink of a recession, this clown is importing people whose claims to asylum are impossible to verify, in the teeth of boasts by ISIS that they will use the opportunity to flood the West with their followers. Not only will 500 rapidly become 2000 as family reunions take place, the pressure on an already strained housing market and social services will increase as the taxpayer foots the bill.

UPDATE:
‘….“Everyone says they are Syrian'”
Many of the migrants flooding Europe to escape war and poverty are scrapping their identities…’

This is nuts! The truth is there are refugees and genuine refugees. It seems there has been zero energy applied to making the distinction, yet the doors have been opened. This move will affect the country for generations and not necessarily in a positive manner. I think JK has misread the public sentiment on this topic and has only heeded the shrill unthinking rubbish of the leftie media.

“..I think JK has misread the public sentiment on this topic and has only heeded the shrill unthinking rubbish of the leftie media.”
Indeed. Although I also think it suits him very well to pretend that he’s responsive to public pressure.

    • Yokel says:

If Key is like Camoron, who has also “bowed to pressure” to accept more refugees, then it isn’t pressure from the public it is instead pressure from his handlers.

Is it just the draw of power, or have all these “leaders” got such murky pasts that it would be rude not to blackmail them?

  2. The Gantt Guy says:

hmmm. That can only end well for New Zealand.

As is his want, John Key stands for nothing and thus will fall for anything.

  3. The Gantt Guy says:

I’ve done something I rarely do: written to my local electorate MP (and the Prime Minister):

    Sir,

I am writing as your Constituent to express considerable discomfort at the Prime Minister’s decision to expand New Zealand’s refugee intake.

As someone who has lived and worked in the Middle East, you know the conflict underway there is nothing new. It is merely the latest chapter in an internecine war between the factions of Islam which has been underway for some 1,400 years.

Despite what the mainstream media would like the public to believe, a huge percentage of the refugees recently arrived in Europe are likely to not be genuine refugees but (as with Australia’s issue with boat arrivals from Indonesia) more accurately described as queue-jumpers. We’ve seen reports that they will riot if they aren’t given food which complies with their dietary requirements; or if they’re not given access to charging stations and free wifi for their smartphones. They threw food and water onto train tracks when they decided it wasn’t up to standard. The vast majority of these migrants are fighting-age males, who would outnumber the combatants and could quite quickly and easily stop the bloodshed, were they of a mind to do so. It gives one pause for thought at the announcement from ISIS as recently as February this year, that they would flood Europe with fighters posing as refugees. It gives one further pause for thought as to the reasons why none of the rich Arab Gulf States will accept even one of these so-called “refugees”.

We have learned the young boy who drowned, the heart-wrenching picture of whom gave voice and poignancy to the current crisis, was not in fact fleeing from Syria, but his family had been living safely in Turkey for many months; they boarded the boat for Europe because the father wanted new teeth.

Of course, I assume none of this is news to you.

Are we in New Zealand going to accept these ingrates as part of the increased intake? These are exactly the types of migrants who will always cause trouble; they refuse to assimilate into New Zealand culture and society, they generally subscribe to the form of Islam which is militant and violent, they firmly believe the words of their prophet that they are superior to all non-Moslems, and thus entitled to subjugate those who generously open their borders to accommodate them.

Or, alternatively, will we be taking genuine refugees? The Yazidis and Syrian Christians facing extermination at the hands of militant Moslems, the women and children sitting in camps awaiting rescue? Or will we be importing violent, militant, entitled fighting-age males who will undoubtedly cause trouble in the future?

Of course, given our (misguided) commitment to the United Nations, the most appropriate course of action would be for a multi-lateral force to carve out an area of Syria sufficient to house all of these “refugees”. That way, they could retain their language, culture and the food they’re used to eating. They could live in an area of the world they’re used to living in. And we in the West, with genuine but misguided concern, would not be at risk of depriving a future Syria of its John Adams or George Washington.

Sir, the concerns to which I’ve given voice here are the concerns of a great many New Zealand citizens. If we accept the types of migrants who have been flooding Europe, we create the conditions for importing an age-old crisis into our (mostly) peaceful little nation.

    Yours sincerely

It won’t do anything useful, but at least if the day comes when it’s open season on the acolytes of the paedophile prophet (piss be upon him), I’ll have a little bit of “I told you so” to make me feel morally superior.

It’s a damn shame we can’t give it much wider circulation.

I copied it to Leighton Smith at NewstalkZB, and am publishing it on various social media pages. Fuck ’em.

        • Michael in Nelson says:

GG, I didn’t catch all for Leighton today to tell if he cited your missive but the ‘refugee’ problem was his topic today.

    • mawm says:

      I agree with KG – a fine letter. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif

I cannot understand this willingness to give away our country, culture, daughters and genes just so that we can feel good.

      • The Gantt Guy says:

What gets me is that they know what’s going to happen. They have the evidence of Rotherham and countless other places in England. Hell, they have the evidence of the way these animals treat their own women and children!

        • mawm says:

Do you believe that Key knows what will happen? He is so shallow all he can do is kow-tow to the UN, the G8, IMF, Obama, Hollywood, Maori, Dame Devoy, the MSM and any other person who has a platform to express outrage. No original ideas, no principles, zilch, nada. Even his flag “debate” will have come from being pressurised by “interested” groups. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_mail.gif

  4. Wombat says:

    Tony Abbott is boxing clever.

…he said the increase would not mean Australia’s overall yearly intake of refugees, which stands at 13,750, would go up.

“No, we are proposing to take more people from this region as part of our very substantial commitment,” he told a press conference in Canberra.

“Our focus will be on families and women and children, especially of persecuted minorities, who have sought refuge in camps neighbouring Syria and Iraq.”

Emphasis added. Oh noes! Not more Christians and Jews! The Greens must be fuming http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif

    • Wombat says:

On the other hand, we have little girls like MP Craig Lundy who probably resent not being able to bring their dollies and teddy bears to parliament.

Vie Bolt regarding the picture of the drowned kid.

MP Craig Laundy said his daughter showed him Aylan on her phone: “We all broke down and cried as a family.”

Yep. A liberal party member no less. I’ll be sure if I ever visit the division of Reid that I’ll commend them on having a mincing fop for an elected representative. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_scratch.gif

    • The Gantt Guy says:

Impressive. Very impressive. John Key should take note.

I wonder how long it will be before he buckles to pressure and expands “persecuted minorities” to include sunni and shia moslems?

      • KG says:

You only have to travel 50km in the M.E. for the “persecuted minority” to change from Sunni to Shia, and vice-versa.
The one M.E.-wide persecuted minority is Christians.

        • The Gantt Guy says:

http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif That’s who we should be taking. Those at genuine risk of being exterminated.

          • Wombat says:

Better yet. Those who still know the fear of that extermination at the hands of muslims and who will bring their stories with them.

Bring ’em over, tout them as model refugees, stick the biggest microphone you can in the hands of those brown beauties right in town square and say, “now, friend, tell us about your experiences regarding islam.” http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

            • The Gantt Guy says:

But but but but can’t possibly do that. That would destroy the narrative, and after all, the narrative is the only thing that matters.

  6. Col. Bunny says:

The reality is that every Western government yearns to bring in thousands and thousands and thousands of Muslims, preferably, but any non-white foreigner will do nicely.

Western politicians may occasionally come within 50 miles of a common sense position. Cameron was on about “limiting” the influx to “tens of thousands.” Yes, that’s “common sense” for you. Stopping the flow entirely? Not in this life or on this planet. Those swine are all like Dr. Strangelove and his hand that was always swinging up to choke him. That’s the hidden, irresistible urge to inundate the homeland with parasitic enemies. They can’t help themselves.

“Dog always return to its vomit” also works here.

Their lives and their children’s lives will be forever degraded. Their children’s humiliation and enslavement are guaranteed. Or their flight to … where? What will remain? It’s obscene. It’s utter lunacy.

They all know a million reasons why immigration is suicide but they proceed anyway.

It’s not really a question of reasoning with them any more. It never was. In truth, they have a different agenda and the preservation of you, your family, and your Western way of life isn’t anywhere on it. God knows what the payoff is for them. Being a stranger in your own land ruled by global governors who hate you or who have a bone through their nose is the primary attraction, from what I can see.
