About Key’s “rock star” economy:

‘NZers have a lot of people in work, but they’re not producing anything.
Here’s a graph from Treasury that says it all’-   TrueblueNZ
It’s my guess that the decline in productivity almost exactly mirrors the rise in numbers and malevolent influence of the bureaucrat class.

Don’t be surprised when the cost of your car, TV or home goes up 20%. I bet your salary won’t. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cry.gif

Ahhh, but we are a service economy – money just appears and goes around.

Well GDP is the sum of monetary activity in NZ. So as the world deflates as it is and will continue to do for a year or two then GDP will in itself fall lower. i.e. not as much money changing hands, Cash flow is reducing. for the same amount of activity. Productivity per man hour is going up but is deflated by the efficiency of the things we use. e.g. Internet and cellphones.

GDP is about the lousiest measure of a countries position as we could use. Try measuring our nett wealth and growth in wealth creation. That’s actually what matters.

You need to realize that the world is making quicker, better, cheaper every things and world wages are slowly averaging down to the lowest common denominator i.e. if you are a person in the world with a job.
Bigger issues to come as oli tanks more and the Saudis run out of securities to sell. They need about $90 a barrel for their oil. Its costs them $45 to produce but then they have to pay every MAN in their Kingdom. and that costs another $45. Their issue is that if they stop paying the men they have a big big problem. some of the others have a similar problem/Germany has a problem like japan of old people and empty houses.
It goes on and on if you look around.

wrote to a National MP re the economy, got a very short, smug reply. do they do lessons in rudeness/talk about Holier than thou!! Of course, I am just one of the proles…National are more sickening that Labour Dark I reckon.

Lara, first question, was this your electorate MP, or not your electorate MP. Cause you will actually get somewhere with your electorate MP. With all the others the only time they respond to your satisfaction is when you have information that will embarass them and cause an outcry. Then they fix it.

They don’t fix it cause they care, they fix it, if its the equivalent of being caught in their underwear.
