I agree it’s very good. At 33 points, exhaustive even. :)

Thanks friends. Not a piece that required days to write. It’s just a bunch of points that seem obvious to the casual reader. The starting point being the strange inability of US planes to make any kind of a dent in an enemy that operates in flat, sparsely populated areas and that hugs main transportation arteries. Did someone mention the word “channelized”?

I remember the video of the radar images of Saddam’s forces moving behind the lines in the first Gulf War. Even then the software was such that multiple small movements could be tracked.

Did that kind of magic drop out of the U.S. inventory? And, if not, how could a bazillion shiny new Toyota trucks make their way casually from Turkey (?) into the ISIS inventory without so much as a scratched tail light?

Did you not hear Obama’s relayed message to Putin about being more “flexible after the election was over”?
The plan has always been to hand control over the ME off to Putin and the Chinese. In the meantime China is selling off US debt at a record pace which is helping drive our economy further downward.
The US military has been and is continuing to be hollowed out to a point that Obama’s coming veto of the military budget will be overturned with a bi-partisan vote.
I figure late fall or mid-winter for the next shoe to drop.

I remember that comment but have no idea to what Obama was referring. Something negative obviously otherwise he would not have wanted to keep it from the voters prior to the election. Beyond that I just don’t know.

It seems a stretch to me to think that Obama would have then agreed to hand over the M.E. to the Russians and the Chinese.

There are a communist thread and a Muslim thread in Obama’s life. The latter is the stronger one and I’d therefore say Obama intended to empower the Muslim Brotherhood in the M.E. and N. Africa. Egypt fits that theory. All of U.S. foreign policy (excluding the case of China) since 1988 has been to further the interests of the Salafists in Saudi Arabia . Why would Obama shift our focus to benefit the Russians? Maybe accommodate the Russians in some way to keep the gas flowing to Europe? Emphasis on “small way.” Just abandoning the whole M.E. is too unlikely. If that isn’t a strategically vital area to the U.S. I don’t know what would be.

Too, I don’t think Russia is communist any longer. More learned people than I think the opposite and so be it. (There’s no question that communists infest Germany and the U.S. The Occidental Observer has a comment on one article there that indicates that Merkel’s pastor father had two cars and foreign travel privileges under the GDR, which indicated that he was involved with Stasi. His daughter now the chancellor of Germany.)

Still, since all Western nations have become lunatic nations in which the prime directive is to foul your own nest utterly and completely, it’s hard to say what does or does not make “sense” in any area. And I do mean any.

I don’t see selling our debt is per se injurious to us. After all, there had to be someone willing to buy it so net change zero. The real catastrophe for the Treason Class would be if someone failed to buy new or re-issued U.S. debt. The U.S. manages the world’s reserve currency and I understand that this gives the U.S. the ability to debase its currency while expecting the rest of the world to eat it and say thank you. Is it not reasonable to take cash from the sale of U.S. treasuries and put it into assets not reachable by U.S. monetary manipulation(s)? One writer indicated that China’s purchase of large amounts of gold is to hedge the value of its remaining U.S. treasuries. If USD decreases in value, gold increases in value. Zero damage to China. Foreign countries can recognize and take action based on U.S. fiscal and monetary irresponsibility without engaging in hostile acts against America. It’s the American Treason Class that’s being hostile toward the rest of the world.

Ditto on what is or is not rational regarding the military. Obama does want to downsize it and that’s worrisome. Since we have a very large defense budget a case can be made that we can reduce military spending, especially if we give up on the idea that we have to be absolute top dog (a la Brzezinski) and take our troops out of the Afghanistan and put them on our own border. I’m not energized on the downsizing issue but, and this is the enormous “but,” whatever this freak who occupies the WH is thinking of doing with the military is without a doubt something that will be as damaging to America as he can possibly make it.

Your guess about when the next shoe will drop is as good as any. I figure the Germans, French, British, Dutch, Poles, Swedes, Norwegians, Slovaks, Austrians, Italians, Greek, Spaniards, and Lichtensteinians would have been in the streets years ago but the bovine temperament has taken root there and throughout the West to such an extent that only the feeblest of support is given to the salvationist political parties by the voters.

I don’t think Westerners have it in them to reverse decades of leftist propaganda and the soul-deadening effects of the welfare state. Only economic collapse will strip away Western smugness, complacency, and stupidity. That collapse simply cannot be delayed much longer. Just the U.S. budget deficit alone is insane not to mention the enormous fiscal drag of a metasticizing parasite class of hostile foreigners in Europe that will contribute nothing to their host (sic) countries.

One picture of Muslim and African invaders trashing one bleeping street anywhere in Europe ought to turn all white men white hot with fury but it and a zillion others don’t have that effect.

Btw, in my piece on Syria I probably downplay the threat of China too much. They forced down a U.S. surveillance plane and are clearly building up their military. And it’s a bleeding commie dictatorship. Still, it has economic difficulties of its own and is vulnerable to interdiction of its oil supplies.

Too, I may have exaggerated the support that Assad has. Andrew Bostom thinks he’s a bad actor but is still quite clear that the choice in Syria is only one: Assad or the MB.

PS — Here’s a decent comment at PJ Media on the point that Obama’s strategy is to give away what the U.S. has. Not so much to the Russians but to the locals here and there. Maybe something was to be handed off to the Russians. Dunno. The overall idea seems to have been we are crap and so here’s something for you that will weaken us as well and teach us a lesson. (Cue photo of Obama bowing to nearest junior Saudi prince, Japanese emperor, or facsimile of Capt. Obvious.)

For deprived foreigners who don’t know who Capt. Obvious is, he’s a witty character in a hotel commercial on American TV who has a spiffy uniform that makes him look like he’s a field marshal.

          Amen! to that.
