Bolt carrier and charging handle would run about $150ish,but I already had a couple spares.If one is patient and waits for parts and pieces to go on sale a nice rifle can be had cheap.
All US made components except for the rear sight(Taiwan,but good) took all of 30 minutes putting it together. Sighted it in with a laser bore sight at 100 yrds,first trip to the range it shot a 2 MOA 10 round group cold bore
Oh,forgot to add,I came up with a good method of improving the accuracy of a laser bore sighting job.I found a cardboard box about a foot square,spray painted the inside bottom flat black and drew a white cross hair on the bottom.Set it out at 100 yrds laying on it’s side.
Set the rifle on a bag rest and flipped the laser on,set my sights to zero at 100,rotated the laser and recorded the error 90 degrees at a time,then split the difference on my sight adjustment.The box shades the target so the laser dot is visible in daylight conditions and the black back helps in seeing the dot better.
Ended up with a 4″ group at 100 yards on the first ten round group which isn’t bad from a standing position,on iron sights with a near sighted shooter
