That’s quite correct. The young seem oblivious that Hitler was socialist to the core. The more discussion of his “folkish” socialist beliefs the better. Hitler makes clear in Mein Kampf that he agrees with the usurpation of democracy, preferring imposed national-socialist ideals, but he rejected Internationalism and the soviet community structure. Only these two features distinguish his philosophy from Marxism.
He preferred a race-based socialist society with demarcation of responsibilities to individuals. The cult of the individual-led single party socialist state vs the cult of the soviet-based single party socialist state.
In Hitler’s words: “If the National Socialist did not realize the fundamental importance of this basic realization…then it would really constitute nothing but a party in competition with the Marxists”. (Mein Kampf. Pg:448)
