Once upon a time in land far off land I’ll call “Camelot” the most wise and most honest men of the Ages got together and wrote a constitution that took into account the corrupt nature of politicians and by the skillful means of “checks and balances” thought they had “checkmated” the corrupt politician for all time.
They failed.

The list of honest anyone is a blank sheet of paper. Honesty is what we expect from others rather than ourselves. We pretend otherwise of course but that’s just pretending.
Of course, the fallen nature of man – but the difference between us and them is that as private persons, there is a limit to the damage we can do before karma kicks us in the butt; however, for “them” – the politicians – who have control of the machinery of government, the evil they can do has no limits, and karma doesn’t catch up with many of them until after the damage is done.
