How come all these traitors come in power?http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_unsure.gif

  2. Ronbo says:

…because the ruling class wants traitors in power will do their biding.

  3. mara says:

Turnbull may scrape together a cabal but it won’t be pretty. I expect to see the re-arrival of so-called boat people.

    • KG says:

With Pauline Hansen in the Senate with (possibly) as many as four seats, he hasn’t a hope in hell of getting the required legislation passed.

  4. Cadwallader says:

They say we all get the governments we deserve, the Aussies have obviously been very bad. The “Lucky Country” now sounds very hollow.

    • KG says:

It sure does, Cad, and it didn’t need to be this way. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_sad.gif

    • Gregoryno6 says:

Steady on there, Cad! We’re where we are because of one man and his ambition.
Tony Abbott squibbed on 18C and other issues, but he stopped the boats and he killed off a couple of Labor’s most idiotic taxes. Most Australians were mostly happy with him, so to speak. Turnbull, who last week wailed that Australians shouldn’t vote for minority parties and risk instability, did a shitload of destabilising himself last year. Which resulted in 54 Liberals lining up behind him to remove TA.
Had Turnbull showed anything that came within a few light years of leadership between last September and yesterday he would likely have won over some of the alienated Abbottists in the electorate. Instead, he proved only that he was plain fkng useless. He not only gained the leadership through treachery, but once he had it he had no idea what to do with it.
Counting is on hold until Tuesday but on current numbers there will be no clear majority in the HOR. The Senate will be even more of a minefield that it was before the election. Turnbull, if still PM, will be in a position that only a satirist could envisage. He called a double dissolution because he couldn’t get his legislation passed, and now the numbers will be stacked even higher against him.
Andrew Bolt has called on Turnbull to resign. I say he should resign, and then remove himself to a remote island in the Pacific. Or Siberia, or the hottest spot in Death Valley. GTFO, Turnbull!

      • KG says:

Turnbull after the knifing of Abbott always looked to me like a chimpanzee who’d grabbed a nice shiny bit of gear but had no idea what to do with it.
(make that a syphilitic chimp. I dislike the man intensely, always have.)

        • Gregoryno6 says:

Syphilitic chimp is fine by me. I labelled him a poxy fuck on another site this afternoon.

          • KG says:

(I’m still having trouble trying to comment over at your site, Gregory.)

            • Gregoryno6 says:

              What’s the problem?

              • KG says:

Fill in the fields, press “send”…and nothing happens.

                • Gregoryno6 says:

Just checked for uncleared comments, and the Spam file too. There’s nothing pending – well, not unless you’re posting under names that reference sexual practices, in which case you’re in the Spam file half a dozen times.
Can you try again, with a comment on the post with the two memes? I’ll see if that one shows up. Sorry about this, I don’t know what’s going on.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gif

      • Cadwallader says:

“One man and his ambition?” Politics in Australia has been poxy and cloyingly stupid for a number of years. The term “one man” could relate to Rudd, Abbot, Turnbull etc…together with some third rate losers who ponce about at state level.

  5. Yokel says:

It is good to see a country where voting still has some effect!

While George Galloway is for the most part (no, almost entirely) a despicable piece of a politician, at least one bit of truth escaped from his lips. That was when he described the British Labour and Conservative parties as being two cheeks of the same arse.

It matters not who we vote for, the same Civil Service/Common Purpose agenda keeps on rolling along. [Everyone who thinks they matter seems to have attended the same Common Purpose training.]

  6. MvL says:

Just returned from a couple of weeks in (sunny but cool) Queensland.
Election fever was totally non-existent as far as I could see. Campaigning was mostly dominated on TV by a furiously karate chopping Turnbull emerging from doorways spouting gibberish. When he was standing still, the background seemed to be some kind of green presidential shield. No sign of an Aussie flag anywhere.
I did run across a couple of LNP hopefuls on the hustings, generally at local markets. My question to one, Bert van Manen, was…”Why did you knife the only grown-up leader your party had?” I was really not prepared for the for the tirade of abuse against Abbott that followed. And the man was serious.
    Karma is a bitch though.
Looks like Bert is out on his ear on the present counting.

  7. Bo Chandler says:

This is about as good a result as possible. The libs might still be able to form government but Turnbull gets a pimp slap from the electorate and the senate remains hostile.

    High fives all ’round.

    • Bo Chandler says:

Now that I have a chance to sit down at a proper keyboard…

When you stop and think about it, if you asked God for as perfect an outcome as the ballot box could produce then this would tick most of the proverbial boxes.

Hopefully the Libs get to form a government which shields us from breakneck debt and refugees, yet at the same time a hostile senate will put a pox on Turnbull who will already be seen as a political cripple.

Abbott finds himself vindicated and will no doubt be quietly smirking that, while Malcom-in-the-middle is still squirming well into the week, when Abbott contested the election he was crawling through empty champagne bottles the next day and looking for aspirin before getting to work as the new PM.

It’s enough to make you laugh and laugh and laugh.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

Unless, of course, he does a deal which results in onshore invader processing, in order to stay in power…
The bastard would resign if he had a shred of integrity.

        • Bo Chandler says:

          He does not.

I just read this in the SMH.

“A besieged Malcolm Turnbull has steadied his teetering leadership, declaring his chances of forming a majority government may be improving, while also taking full responsibility for a flawed campaign.

He flagged new efforts to rebuild damaged trust in the Coalition after the broken promises of the Abbott government.”

This prick is a world class Charlie Uniform November Tango.
