   I do not understand why that woman Merkel is still breathing. Are Germans so cowed and obedient 70 odd years after the War that they are prepared to toss away their future?

     Mara,I know a few 1st generation recent German immigrants and have worked with a few and from talking to them the same problems are affecting Germany as anywhere else in the west.
     Social and societal rot at all levels.The kids don’t have the same drive and ethic as their parents,too many want to go off to university,smoke dope and screw instead of staying with the farm or working in a factory.One lady I know,she’s a mechanic,says the current generation of German youth are just the same as the millennials here,lazy,stupid and demanding everything be handed to them.
     If that is the case,then the future doesn’t hold much hope for Germany.

   The problem with the Germans is – unlike the USA and Britain – Nationalism is not encouraged because of the Nazis. Yes, Germans are super loyal to their women, their local beer and the football team – but the country? They have been brainwashed by their socialist teachers to think its a very bad thing to love Germany – and this anti-Nationalist brainwashing goes back generations to the late 1940s and the Allied Occupation.

   However, the current foreign invasion of Germany by hordes of dangerous foreigners in numbers not seen since 1945 has been a mid wife to the rebirth of German Nationalism.

   Yes, the sleeping giant of Teutonic fury still sleeps, but one eye is open and the giant stirs, his hand searching for his terrible swift sword.

       I read that article already – and I have his book on Kindle!

       As you well know, my trade for twenty years was Military Intelligence and formally trained for the craft as an Intelligence Analyst at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts in 1967.

       The instructors taught us to never believe the enemy was ten feet tall – Yes, always consider their strengths – but take note of their weaknesses.

       Also, they told to take note of human psychology – and the fact that people tend to have more belief in an enemy’s strength than his weaknesses – the common belief in a “Worse case outcome.” This was negative thinking that the instructors belittled a “Stinking Thinking” – if a man believes he cannot earn a decent living and support a wife & family – he very likely will never have a good paying job, or a wife, or children.

       I remember one of our instructors did a poll of U.S. Army officers at the request of the Pentagon. A majority of them believed we were just barely holding the line again Communism everywhere in the world – and that the best tactic was defense.

       The only problem with an Army Doctrine of “Active Defense” – which was in FM-101 enacted by the Pentagon was that no matter how good the defense, the enemy will always find a way around it.

       This the Communists did. America and her allies set up great defensive systems all over the world to stop Communism: NATO, SEATO, CENTO that completely surrounded the Soviet Union and Red China with an “iron circle” of Allies. However, in the end the commies always managed to break through and score victories, like in the Korean War and in Vietnam. In Europe where the flower of the American Army was stationed, some 350,000 strong, the commies had absolutely no problem in building stooge Communist parties in France, Italy and even Germany, the KPD, Communist Party Germany, who engaged in low level sabotage usually like pouring sugar in the gas tanks of American military vehicles – and propaganda efforts with the young troops in the hopes of turning them into a 5th column inside the U.S. Army.

       I’d say by spring of 1980 and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the seemingly endless Communist victories in places like Central America and Africa – that the Cold War was lost. I recall a number of officers and NCOs who got out of M.I. and the Army because they were convinced the Communists would win and their efforts to stop them were useless.

       Then came 1981 and Ronald Reagan and the end of just playing defense against the Soviet Union – “The Main Enemy” – and doing a host of things that were offensive: the Pershing nuclear missile in Europe, supporting a rebel movement in Central America called the “Contras”, supporting a trade union in Poland, adding at least 50% to the military budget that included taking battleships out of mothballs, and the starting STARS WARS defense to shoot down Soviet ICBMs.

       What happened next was something I got into a lot of trouble predicting in the 1970s as an intelligence analyst writing in an unauthorized publication – the collapse of the Soviet Union before the start of the 21st century.

       My point? What I like most about Spengler is that he did the same sort of thing I did as a young soldier – He looked beyond the common knowledge of the day which believes Islam is ten feet tall and the best we can do is play defensive. Then he looked at their weaknesses that are legion, but most critical item on a long list is demographics – it would appear that the Muslim birthrate is plunging even faster that of Western Europe, which is saying something, as Italy’s is something like 1.1 per thousand – this means the Italians will disappear as a nation before 22nd century!

       Thus Islam – like Communism in the 1970s – is a dying beast. In retrospect we can see now that the Communists offensives across the world were a “Hail Mary Play” where a losing football team tries desperate plays to pull a victory out of defeat. Islam’s “Hail Mary Play” is world wide terrorism and we know that terrorism alone will not win a war. In fact, terrorism usually has the opposite effect in the long run which is to mobilize a country against the terrorists.

       Yes, today Islam has a surplus of young men willing to commit suicide. But what about ten years from now? Twenty? The demographics state that young men in military age will be in shorter and shorter supply in the years to come.

       Also, consider the tactics of the West, which has been right out “The Book of Appeasement 1930s Style” which defensive.

       Yes, today we are playing defensive, but at some point the public will demand an offensive, which disorganized and anti-technology Islam cannot stand.

       Thus in the long run “The Third Great Jihad” will end even worse for Islam than the first two – they will have lost forever their long struggle against modernism all over the globe – and to survive as Muslims they must become truly peaceful and moderate like so many are in the former Yugoslavia
