I’m thinking Putin + Duterte + Trump = lots of pain for the bad guys. And heaps of exploding lefty heads.
Just a pity we can’t add Abbott to that sum.

Darin, While I believe drug dealers are some of the worst scum there is, I have a serious problem with cheering on a government that throws out the rule of law and encourages the police and ordinary citizens to engage in summary executions

    • Darin says:

I do as well in a functioning civil society, but I believe the rule of law went out the door awhile ago. What there is now is an abrupt attempt at a correction.Once crime has been out of control for as long as it has what are the options?

  3. KG says:

I’m with Michael on this one. Strongly.
A lot of innocent people are getting hurt there.
The answer is massively increased policing and the rooting out of corruption at all levels.
Start by jailing corrupt police, judges and politicians.

    • Darin says:

Agreed, but I see a lot of similarities with Mexico.Anybody that gets elected and tries to enforce the rule of law ends up dead shortly there after. And corruption is literally cradle to grave at all levels through the public and government. Both are failed states as I see them, how far can a nation slide before it reaches the point of no return?

      • KG says:

I don’t know the answer to that one, Darin. I doubt anyone does.
In my view a whole lot of supposedly civilized Western countries are headed for “failed state” status, it’s just that the route to the destination is different, as are the starting positions.

Start at the top – any politician receiving “bribes” so as to allow others to circumvent the law, any bad cop, etc. , and make the punishment as harsh as that society wants. Same with those dealing in death.

I was stationed in the Philippines in the late 1960s at Clark, AFB just north of Manila – and crime was pretty bad then – especially for G.I.s who took a weekend pass in Angeles City, which started at the front gate to the base.

Since the locals were better knife fighters than the average G.I., so those of us who were “townies” purchased black market .25 Colt automatics. I was given my weapon by my room mate on base who suddenly came down on orders for Vietnam and had to leave in a hurry. I thought carrying concealed was a bit much, so one Friday night I went to Angeles City to sell the gun back to the black market guy I knew – and no sooner had I went outside the base and the protection USAF Security Police than four Philippine thugs with knives confronted me and demanded my wallet. I reached in my pocket and pulled out my shooting iron instead. I emptied the magazine in the general direction of bandits – and…silence…and just four switch blades dropped on the ground and dust from the feet of the fleeing felons!

Like they say, never bring a knife to gun fight!http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif
