No Place for Kings

John Conlin has some thoughts on the perception of “royalty”-

American Thinker-

“How am I supposed to sit on a jury and decide my fellow citizen’s fate when I know that our political royalty are held to a different and almost always lower standard?  How can I demand that my fellow citizens tell the truth under oath when no such demand is made of our royalty?  Why should I participate in any system whereby my fellow citizens are held to a higher standard than our political royalty?”

  1. Pithy and important questions, all. But note this: a great percentage of Americans are comfortable with the idea of a political elite that’s “above the law.” Their acquiescence to the matter stems from an unarticulated belief that “those who know better” than us the hoi polloi should be accorded a lot of latitude, “so they can get things done.”

    Yes, you may well shudder.

And that applies to both parties with each other’s adherents changing positions like weather vanes in the political wind. The old “it’s okay if our guy does it” attitude has led us all down the hill.

    • Ronbo says:

Why shudder? I would expect this attitude from half the country, as their less than average I.Q. and lack of leadership ability encourages them to follow any piper playing a pleasant tune and offers a free meal. There is no difference in mentality of the ancient Roman mob – “Give us bread and circus, and we will allow Caesar to do anything.” – and today’s average Democrat.

The important thing to know, Francis, is that history is made by people such as us – the minority with high I.Q.s , education and accomplishments Yes, we are a minority – but it is people such as us who start revolutions and kill ruling classes. It was people such as us who started the American Revolution and won the revolutionary war – and the patriots never numbered more than 10% of the population.

We did once, we can do it again – but only if put on our war paint and throw the tea into the harbor.

And that, gentlemen, is why I pray for an armed uprising.
“We’ll bend it to our awe, or break it all to pieces…”

“How am I to sit on a jury and decide my fellow citizen’s fate…”

Simple; If day black, day be wrong.

It makes me sad. Friends are totally ok with clear corruption. They equivocate my opinion with empty terms, sexist/racist/you know what I mean. Foundations of life are near ashes. “Mr. Obama has been a wonderful president. We need a woman president.”

There truly is a divided logic. Are we “fighting for our freedom” in any Muslim tribal area – hell no. Preaching to the choir! It ain’t over until it’s over. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gif

What is needed is a King Ralph, a’ la John Goodman to sort things out.

  6. Ronbo says:

    No way!!!

We need Johnny Rambo and his .50 caliber Browning air cooled machine gun and about ten thousand rounds of ammunition.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif
