Who would you pick?

I reckon of all the people Trump could pick to replace Comey as head of the FBI,Trey Gowdy would be the best man for the job by far IMO.

    • A prosecutor is not a manager.
Need a strong organizational guy with integrity the troops respect.
Please dear God, not David Clarke or Christie.
      Bill Bratton?

    I like this guy.

I’ve been watching Gowdy for a while now and find his incisive intelligence and precision of thought to be most attractive. For just that reason the Dems would rather hang themselves in the public square than allow his appointment to this position. Trump’s haters are now clinically insane. There will be a LONG fight ahead on this issue. Whomever Trump favours will be resisted with lies and deranged passion by the entire MSM.

    • Darin says:

I believe you are right Mara, but one thing the left always forgets about Trump,he thrives in a fight, where on the otherhand the left does everything they can to weasel their way of of one-it’s the coward’s way.

  5. Ronbo says:

We need a firm anti-Communist like J. Edgar Hoover to keep our Left standing down as he was so successful in doing…But other than one of the Crusaders here at our Round Table, I don’t know where such a man would be found.

I like Trey; had Senator Sessions demurred, I believe he would have been a GREAT choice for AG. THAT said, someone with time in investigations/law enforcement is what is needed as head of the FBI. I believe Sheriff Clarke would be the smart choice; I doubt he would have any problem absorbing the federal differences to local law enforcement.

I agree, but is he a leader?

I’m a champion demagogue – and trained by the U.S. Army in three separate NCO academies to be a leader – but I always fell flat on my face as a leader. The Army finally gave up on me and assigned me to missions where I either worked alone, or under supervision.

My observation in life is that most people are in the same category – If you put a non-leader in a leadership role one of two things happen and both are bad: He either becomes a petty tyrant, or “Mr. Wonderful” and the mice will play in the resulting anarchy.

I recall a platoon sergeant of infantry telling me when he was in combat in Vietnam, both he and his officer agreed that their best leader in combat was a “professional” private – an alcoholic in garrison and AWOL when a work detail was needed- but in the field and off the bottle he was John Wayne – and so they followed him in battle to victory after victory.

I conclude that good leaders are born that way.

Gowdy has one of the sharpest legal minds and intellects I have EVER seen – he is a fearsome prosecutor. I would love to see him prosecute a few retards in the current USA political scene! Perhaps such a role for him would be best – especially in a very public position.

I have no idea of his leadership abilities – appreciate your insights…

        • Darin says:

I for one much appreciate his ability to cut through all the BS and hit bedrock. It’s what’s needed to replace Comey and his”feelings” which have no legal standing in a court of law.

Jim Kalistrom is well qualified, former top investigator and held a top position in FBI. sure he is 70ish but still active and healthy.

Intresting that the deputy AG was just confirmed by a 94-6 vote in the Senate just two weeks ago, meaning he garnered overwhelming bipartisan support from both parties. Why did he get their support?Because by everyone’s account he is a rock solid impartial attorney who follows the letter of the law.

And in case anyone missed it,all day yesterday the dems were in an uproar that Trump made a knee jerk, impulsive decision in firing Comey. However it turns out the exact opposite is true,Trump was mulling firing Comey for a good while, but after receieving the letter from the deputy AG it was the last piece of evidence he needed to make the final call and fire Comey.Tempered leadership anyway you slice it.

    is troubling.

Of the four names being interviewed for FBI director, the one I recognize is Sen John Cornyn — a GOPe of the highest order. He’s the current Senate Whip (AKA leg breaker to assure enough votes tailored to McConnell’s orders).

Without my providing all the evidence that supports the following: The job of the GOPe when the Right seems to be in power is to demand policies that placate the Left despite the Left having done nothing of the sort while it was in power. Such as just now putting a revised Obamacare on a tax basis that sustains the power of government over healthcare rather than returning healthcare to the free market.

If Cornyn is the sort of the other choices, or of the choices to come, and the final pick is much closer to a Lindsay Graham type rather than a Ted Cruz type, then we know Trump is just another frontman for the oligarchs.

Remember, there is no nominee who can be filibustered thanks to Harry Reid, so no nominee can be too far right while the GOP holds the senate. And the only way a nominee can be voted down is if Cornyn can’t whip the votes to get the nominee passed (wink, wink). Damned GOPe will be outed but don’t expect most talk-show hosts to make an issue of the exposure. You heard it here first.

Going on — we will know we’ve been had in style and we can expect more of the same. We will get Leftism but on a paying basis — aka Statism — in a manner similar to what Nixon pulled off.

I’ve seen it all done before, so I’m not just pulling this out of my ass. My number one understanding of Progs is that current generation has no genius amongst them, so they always do whatever has worked before because they are the quintessential throwbacks and their goal is enslavement of the entire globe. Feudalism 2.0.

      Anybody.

      • Ronbo says:

        @KG:

        Maybe we should DRAFT politicians?

Make it a law that everyone owed the State upwards of six years political service to the State – then put the names of all honest citizens in a great basket that pretty girls would rotate once every two years – and the MC would reach in and at random select the names for terms of office of two, four and six years.

The lucky (sic) winners would be informed and given plane tickets to the nation’s capital city – and placed in military style barracks – and put thru political boot camp by hardcore drill sergeants.

On graduation day they would be marched to the capitol building and ordered to do their duty for God and Country!

Of course, food, clothing, shelter (in the barracks) and a small check would be given to the drafted politicians – and office expenses covered by the government – and I’d even throw in free haircuts.

I bet it would be best Parliament or Congress in the history of the world.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_good.gif

        • Pascal says:

That’s a good start Ronbo. But there’d still be more that needed to be done. They must wear proximity bracelets similar to CO detectors that sent up a wail whenever certain lobbyists approached so that both the rep and the lobbyist knew there was an x% chance that their conversation “may be monitored for quality assurance.”

      • Cadwallader says:

This is an understandable sentiment but taken to its extreme Trump is an enemy too. If somebody attains power without being elected are they enemies as well? I often toy with the idea of a benevolent dictatorship but the problem with this is that the benevolence can only be measured at the outset, and it would be hazardous to assume it would remain as a constant. Perhaps this is a genuine and vapid conundrum? I certainly hold no answers.

Pay them the average wage, make it illegal to take money from anyone for anything, stop their insider trading, make it obligatory to have the same health care as the rest of America, give them no personal security – at all (that might make them sit up and listen to their constituents first time round), no gold-plated pension, no status, etc. etc. That’ll sort out those who go into politics for their own enrichment from those who put their country first. Oh, I forgot term limits and recall elections. I’m sure there are a few more y’all can add. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_mail.gif

Oh,go to Washington DC for two months each year to do the nation’s business, then return home to their respective districts for the rest of the year. They will need to hold down regular jobs so they can pay their own bills after all.
