It’s like I said over ten years ago – there would be bloody civil war between the Left and Right in America and it would break out the day the Right dropped its efforts to appease the Left with honest adult behavior, compromise and dialogue.
The day the worm turned was the election of Donald Trump on November 8, 2017 – and de facto the Right dropped its nice guy, tolerant, Mr. Buttoned Down Conservative with the briefcase running to work- and put on the combat red MAGA that signaled resistance to Leftist tyranny.

Ronbo in regards to a comment you made further back, my mother and I don’t agree on Trump’s tax cuts.
He’s going to have income tax cuts, but he’s also kept spending down, including the environment, and he will raise tariffs.
Warren G. Harding did the same thing, cut income taxes, but lowered spending and raised tariffs. My arguement is that Trump’s tax cuts are affordable.
My mother doesn’t agree with me, and so far the articles in the paper support her arguement, they look at the cost of the tax cuts and ignore, his spending cuts and his other tax rises.
It goes back way further than 30 years ago, when I was very young I remember listening to the radio and there was an international politics discussion. American politics was one of the subjects and it mentioned the fact that the Democrats considered Eisenhower to be senile. It may not have been on the same scale as it is now, but it was there.

@KG: Actually the Feds tried that tactic out on me when I was arrested and made a political prisoner. My first port of call in the federal gulag was FCI Butner, NC – where Secret Service lackey psych doctors were put under intense pressure to put me on “medications” that would have destroyed my mind.
Fortunately, one of the few honest federal judges put a stop to that effort, but I came within 24 hours of being tied down on a hospital bed and being injected with mind destroying drugs.
Yes, our Secret Service, FBI, NSA and DOJ have learned much from the old Soviet Union and its KGB on how to deal with political people like me who won’t “get their minds right” – Have them arrested on trumped up charges, get them convicted and sent to federal prisons like Butner – Have them declared “insane” lackey psych doctors – and inject them with mind destroying drugs that turn them into easily controlled zombies.
BTW, this happened over 20 years in 1994 – and I was said, “The USA v. Barbour” was done at least in part to fine tune an Establishment response to pesky resistance figures.
P.S. Just to set the record straight government wise – In early 2003 I requested the Veterans’ Administration mental health doctors give me an examination. It was agreed – and I was sent to the VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida – and ran like a lab rat thru all the standard psychological tests.
The bottom line? that I was 100% sane, above average intelligence and very much the argument type. Said one doctor, “The patient does not see the world in terms of grey areas, but only in terms of black and white – right or wrong.”

So they want to increase diversity and inclusivity (whatever the hell that is) in employment. That means being able to hire the person most suitable for the job is now illegal? Can an employer be forced to hire a transgender to monitor the ladies toilet block for a superloo? Or how about a visa over-stayer from a third world shithole being employed as a pilot because there isn’t one at the moment?
God help the pensioners because I seriously doubt the NZ Super payments are going to keep up with the cost of living rise that must accompany a minimum wage rise to over $16/hr.
