I’d feel much the same way, not to mention relief, but for one thing Darin. Don’t hate me for pointing this out, but look at the site name. The name even implies a warning!

No, it’s not The Onion. Nowadays one indeed needs to be alert when one sees “science” and study in near proximity. All the “omens”* tell us so. LOL

Introducing The Humanity Star – a bright, blinking satellite now orbiting Earth, visible to the naked eye in the night sky. Launched on #StillTesting, The Humanity Star is designed to encourage everyone to look up and consider our place in the universe. Website coming soon pic.twitter.com/wvIEcXelVk

    Astronomer Ian griffin:
Thanks to Rocketlab’s act of environmental vandalism NZ is first country to deliberately “tag” the cosmos. A great example of NZ’s clean green image projected onto our planet’s threatened night sky. Humanity? Don’t make me laugh. Corporate self puffery of the highest order #sad pic.twitter.com/7WHsMlJhS9

A flashing disco ball will really encourage people to contemplate our place in the cosmos.

If I had a rocket I wouldn’t waste a shot on a Disco Ball either, course these days now that everybody and their brother is launching rockets I guess they felt a need for publicity http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_unsure.gif
