‘The Washington-imposed economic policy of economic growth via mass-immigration shifts wealth from young people towards older people, it floods the market with foreign labor, spikes profits and Wall Street values by cutting salaries for manual and skilled labor offered by blue-collar and white-collar employees. It also drives up real estate prices, widens wealth-gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, hurts kids’ schools and college education, pushes Americans away from high-tech careers, and sidelines at least 5 million marginalized Americans and their families, including many who are now struggling with opioid addictions.’

Been in a disscussion about school shootings and gun control on a machinists forum. All the usual prog arguments came out to play,so I made a simple point-

“Curtailing the rights of the law abiding has never curtailed criminal activity. We have an epidemic of female teachers having sex with their students,if we use the same logic as the anti-gun crowd,by their logic we should ban female teachers.”

    • Fred says:

All UBI does is turn zero into $10 (or whatever). It’s completely arbitrary. If everybody has 10 to start with then 10 is now the same as zero was. It’s stupid, but, here’s that really bad part; inflation will immediately adjust to the new baseline of 10 and before you can say jack rabbit, 10 will suddenly be worth just about zero. And if you have 20, it’s now worth…yup…10. You’ve just been cut in half and well on your way to the bottom of the commie utopia model heaping dung pile.

And some in the States are saying “Why not give everybody a free college degree” then everybody will be educated, right? Wrong. A degree will be worth the same as completing secondary school was and in order to accomplish this some people who can’t pass, must pass and if they don’t I’m a racist, or something.

So give everybody free money, a degree, and pat on the head. They will FEEL great…until reality…

News flash, earth doesn’t care how you feel that Marxism might work, this time.

      • Darin says:

“So give everybody free money, a degree, and pat on the head. They will FEEL great…until reality…”

That’s basically what we have already via the student loan program and the crooked “education” establishment.

As for the UBI,it’s an artifical version of a real economy which is why it will never work.

Ever hear Milton Freidman’s explaination of how our economy works? From memory it goes something like this-
A traveling salesman walks into a hotel in a sleepy litle town on the Baltic Sea.He askes the clerk what his best room is and what it costs. The clerk tells him it costs 100 Rubles per night. The salesman says okay, but I want to see the room first to make sure it meets my expectation. The clerk says sure, but you must leave one nights rent on the counter before you go up which the salesman does.
As soon as he goes up stairs the clerk picks up the note and runs next door and pays the butcher that he owes for the hotel’s meat. The butcher then takes the note and runs down the street to pay his mechanic the money he owes for fixing his wifes car.The mechanic runs to the hotel and pays the town prostitute the 100 Rubles he owes her for services rendered. The prostitute runs down stairs and pays the hotel clerk for the past weeks rent on her place of business.
The salesman comes back down stairs, says he doesn’t like the rooms, picks up his 100 Ruple note and walks out.

Everyone was paid and no one ws left owing any money. The reason that system worked is beacuse everybody in it traded value for money. The UBI won’t work because money is being traded for nothing.

How many people were affected? We really don’t know. There are official reports to the FDA about 250 people died associated with heparin but do we really know the full course of it. How do we know?”

    • mawm says:

Unfortunately some really good, as well as essential drugs, are not profitable to produce anymore and the big companies just stop manufacturing them. This results in low wage countries taking over. The result is usually an inferior product with variable absorption and lower blood levels. All such products should have strict quality control testing for this and to eliminate any possible contamination.

    ANZAC Day 2018: Remembering victory.

Then came a wild, terrifying roar as waves of Australian infantry from the 15th Brigade rushed the German positions, knowing that men from the 13th Brigade were doing the same on the other side of Villers-Bretonneux. Downing recalled ‘a howling as of demons’ as the Australians surged forward with rifle and bayonet, their “fierce, low growl [as] of tigers scenting blood”. Ordered to take no prisoners, they “killed and killed … there was no quarter on either side”.

ANZAC Day has added significance this year. 2018 marks the centenary of Australian troops driving German forces from the village of Villers-Bretonneux, a few miles from Amiens. The quote above comes from the account of Walter Downing, published in 2002 as To The Last Ridge. (Still available, by the way.)

The Germans had had a string of successes through March and April of 1918, and were aiming to push on through Villers-Bretonneux into Amiens and then on to the English Channel. Their men had fought hard, and the British troops in the area had taken the brunt of the battle. But the Australians were given special incentive by General John Monash. On the eve of the battle Monash reminded the men that they would be fighting on the third anniversary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli. He urged the troops to fight for those fallen comrades. Spurred on, the Australians made a victory of the hastily improvised battle plan and crushed the enemy.

The victory at Villers-Bretonneux was the first act in the final defeat of Germany.

    • mawm says:

Sadly, all that was fought for, all those lives lost protecting freedom, has been lost with barely a whimper; handed over by corrupt politicians for their 30 pieces of silver.

      • KG says:

Aye, and the “education” system has made sure that people today aren’t even aware of what’s been lost.

  24. Gregoryno6 says:

    ANZAC Day 2018: Remembering sacrifice.

Peter Badcoe was born in Adelaide in 1934. Upon leaving school he joined the state government’s public service as a clerk. From the few photos to be found of him, Badcoe embodies the archetype of a government minion: round face, glasses, and a slightly disapproving expression.

Appearances can deceive. Major Peter Badcoe, Australian Army Training Team Vietnam, was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross in 1967.

On April 7 Major Badcoe was rallying his men, moving forward against the enemy. He was hit and killed by machine gun fire as he rose from cover to throw a grenade.

On this and on two previous occasions Major Badcoe had displayed exceptional leadership and courage. On the first occasion, in February 1967, he rescued a US Medical Adviser who had been wounded and trapped under heavy fire. The United States recognised Major Badcoe’s courage by awarding him the Silver Star with oak cluster. I believe he is the only Australian soldier to receive this honour.
