Proof that there’s no cosmic justice…Wabbit can’t afford one. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cry.gif

    Each to his own.
I have enough toys, and am working very hard on my work-life balance so that I have enough time to play with them.

Same here,my biggest fear is by the time I have enough time to play I’ll be too old http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_sad.gif

A million years ago, I was at a stop light in SoCal at 2am at the beginning of a new freeway. There was zero traffic and I was driving an old MGB I bought used for $800. A Ferrari GTO 250 pulled up next to me, so just to be funny I gunned my engine in a “wanna race?” style. The guy at the wheel of the ferrari just smiled. When the light changed, he let me stay with him for about 100 yards, then his car took off like a rocket and left me essentially sitting still. As I crested the top of an overpass, there was a highway patrol car on the other side. I was doing over 90 at that point and he could have busted me for it, but instead took off after the ferrari. I quickly hit the exit as the cop passed me on the left and the last I saw, the ferrari was so far ahead at that point you could just make out his disappearing tail lights. The cop was never going to catch him.

LOL. By chance the 2 Freeway North at the light on Glendale Blvd? Similar story.

55 freeway in Orange County, CA. The Ferrari guy probably lived in Newport Beach.

        • Pascal says:

Today the 55 is far too crowded except at dawn Sunday. OTOH, the 2 south from LaCañada there are some who go open throttle almost any time. Rare site/sight. One day some hacker will flood the internet with GPS views of cars doing exactly that.

I had a ’72 MGB Roadster. It might have had suspension like an ox wagon but I still miss it. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cry.gif However I wouldn’t mind a red thing – especially the one of the older ones. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yes.gif

One of my customers at work owned a pristine 2nd gen Porsche 911 turbo he bought new when the model first launched. He recently sold it and bought a fully restored 1955 Chevy Nomad station wagon with a good bit of money left over.
I asked him why did he sell the Porsche and he said”well time catches us all no matter how fast we move and given I am 40 years older than the Porsche and could no longer get in and out of that SOB I figured it was time to pass it on to someone that could” sad,but true http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_sad.gif

This is maybe the most remarkable trait of this model.

Just 36 examples of the GTO were built, all of which have survived.

This car compels the owner to cherish it. And look at the payoff for your heirs.

    • Darin says:

Yes,it checked all the boxes from jump, very few made, they were very desireable when new, massive name recognition and the owners even if they flogged them at the track kept very good care of them.
