Well of course it did,if they didn’t have the steel to put on station and guard the route,they should have at least based an armed detail ship board to deal the threat.

Well of course they do,and by sleeper they mean the 10% of the muslim rank and file of the population that see jihad against the west as a muslim’s highest calling.

They are serious and they know Britain isn’t. That is why they are picking on them,Iran first and foremost is a bully.And like all bullies,they might get a few hits in,but go the distance against a real opponent they cannot.
The response to this should be simple,release the ship and the hostages unharmed and go on your way.Otherwise we turn Terhan into a bombed out crater.
That won’t be the response however,because Britain can no longer project power.The Falklands was a major stretch for them back then.This is by comparison right around the corner and a few poorly trained third world wannbees. Why no action yet?
I don’t doubt the courage of the British Solider and Seamen,but I know for a fact their civilian leadership is unfit for task.Last week it was revealed yet again the Brit government’s disdain for their American counterparts.Some say that is because of Trump,but the truth is they didn’t like Obama either.
We have been allies with the Brits since WWI,but I think this time we should sit it out.I don’t see the need to spend American blood and treasure defending oil we don’t need,a nation that has lost it’s way,and a government that has no respect for our people or leadership.

Oh,this is devastating news for the Iranians,instead of the dreaded strongly worded letter,she might sulk or possibly even cry.
Oh,and I forgot to mention it in the OP,but there is one other thing the Brits had during the Falklands campaign besides a functioning Navy.-Margret Thatcher-,I remember Margret Thatcher well enough to know that Theresa May is no Margret Thatcher.
A few questions regarding this ‘incident’.
1. Where were the armed guards on that tanker – the ones they employ to prevent piracy?
2. Were they ordered to cease any retaliatory action against the IRRG who dropped onto the tanker via helicopter?
3. Why did the tanker change course and head directly in the direction of where the IRRG were coming from and not steer away from an impending attack?
4. Why did the captain of the tanker not obey the Royal Navy’s directions?
5. And why is traitor and arch Globalist, May, appearing to take charge of the ‘incident’?
Well the possibilities here are nearly endless,I’ll go first-
#1 My guess is there weren’t any,the first thing the Brits did was cite international maritime law…as if anybody in the PG has ever paid even passing attention to IML,ever.
#2 I’m sticking with there weren’t any,revisit their Somali pirate policy.
#3The one account I read gave a few possible reasons,but no definite answers.I do know that oil tankers don’t turn on a dime so I’m holding judgement till I see more.
#4 Probably was put off by the guys toting the KH-2002’s.The merchant seamen aren’t armed,there are no weapons on board,they just want a paycheck and to go home.

#5 My theory is,this is simply “leadership theater”on the party of the current British government.Both Labor and the Tories might see the the beginnings of a shellacking at the hands of the Brexit party on the horizon.So they need to put on a show of “measured leadership” or some such diplomatic bull to try and fleece enough plebes into voting for them again to stave off the blood flow from the coming slaughter at the ballot?(I know wishful thinking on my part,but i’d be nice to see Brexit party put on a surprising show)
It’s all very much “we don’t want to stir up the natives and create an incident” mindset. The British rules of engagement preclude any action to defend yourself or your possessions….and if you step over the line you will be prosecuted in British courts by your enemy using your lawyers, paid for by you, against you. After all we don’t want to be seen as racist!
Well they are still members of the EU caliphate after all.
