A really great rugby player – and a Union that was once at the top and now has a dire shortage of talent.
I wonder if the league has seen a dip in attendance since this whole thing started?
There’s a difference between League and Union (and Aussie rules). I know it’s not quite what you meant. Folau started in League but due to salary caps moved to the more lucrative (for top players) Union. Union is third in popularity in Aus – fortunately for the other Union playing nations like NZ, South Africa and the UK.
Its a pity it didn’t go to court but its still a win of sorts for free speech and for that I’m grateful. I do wish Israel would get some teaching about theology and context though – he doesn’t add much to the Christian debate with the way he presents his statements.
I didn’t expect him to be a polished theologian, the main thing here is he didn’t back down.
The problem with so many Christians these days is they lack a spine. How many in his same position if faced with the same situation, would have simply ducked and took cover rather than stand firm?
How about this brain dead comment from then Pope in a thinly veiled condemnation of Trump.

Glorious. Folau has risen again. (have i taken it a bit far … perhaps). Yet truth has a way of conquering nonsense. Logos is waking again.
Free speech is simply free thought. The lefty non-sense machine would have us all slaves in their nonsense world, unable to think. Guarded by fire-dogs. Without free speech we would be worms in the garden, trapped by sin, beholden to flesh.
They tried to sacrifice Israel by nailing him to the cross of political correctness. The cabal of corporate toadies thought they could clamp down on Christendom, crush it finally, and extinguish its light. The Logos, the truth, found a way. Of course they will try again, but they have shown their hand now. Won’t be able to sneak up again. They have come out from beneath the shadows. The rugby union, Qantas and LGBT alliance sent in their sodomite shock troops, but they were driven back. There is a new rising consciousness that these evil people mean for all Christians to grovel in the new city of flesh. It is a war. More and more people have awoken.
