Been telling everybody I can that very same thing for the last twenty odd years since the Satanic Verses debacle. For most of that time most of these fuckwits have either looked embarrassed and turned away or openly taken the piss (always just under my humour failure threshold, fortunately). Now for the last little while both of these responses have either disappeared or diminished in magnitude but I still despair to find a decent collection of vertebrae in any given place at one time, least of all those with a willingness to get off of their fat affluent arses, organise and do something physically positive before it’s too late.
If nothing else it is going to have to get worse by several orders of magnitude before these morally destitute, socialised herds of brainwashed sheeple find anything resembling a survival instinct, and my great fear is that by then it will be too bloody late.

In a way and with any luck it just might enrich me before I shuffle off from natural causes.
