Yes but it’s for our own protection, KG. they’ll only use these tools against ‘terrorists’, won’t they?

    • KG says:

Oh yes. And then they’ll re-define “terrorist” to include everybody who isn’t a government apparatchik.

        • KG says:

More or less, yes. But they’ll keep widening the definition, Gantt. In Germany, homeschooling is already considered something like a crime against the State….the possibilities are endless.
The jackboot stamping on a face isn’t so far away, and grumpy old bastards like me are always “paranoid”.
          Until it actually happens.

The results of years of dysfunctional socialist education.

The people enacting these measures do not have a clue.

  3. The Gantt Guy says:

Slightly O/T, but this epistle from Breaking Views NZ gives a very accurate, succinct summary of the problems faced by the West in general and the US in particular.

  4. KG says:

Good article, Gantt. And this is both spot-on deeply worrying:
“..The present Republican leaders will not initiate the radical steps which are required. A Republican administration which does not understand and desire capitalism if elected will preside over a worsening situation which the Democrats will blame them for, paving the way for further Democrat onslaughts on the vestiges of capitalism which remain…”

I’d like to say “that’s why it is so damned important for the TEA Party movement to do with the Senate in 2012 what they did with Congress in 2010” … but given the debt continues to spiral and The One has decided Congress can be nullified by the sheer force of his intellect, I’m not sure controlling both houses will do a heckofalot.

Too right. Although I can manage without the popcorn.
The one sure thing is that nobody can predict how this is going to play out. These events take on a life of their own and as the pace of unravelling cranks up so the directions it can take, multiply.
We figure here in the wabbit burrow that it may be approaching a good time to head off to a small town far out West of here, hunker down and watch what happens. I suspect that a lot of people who are counting on their super and their possessions to see them through may be in for a nasty surprise. Without wanting to sound like a survivalist, I think we’ll all find out what things really are valuable and which aren’t.
