The feet don’t lie:

‘Today’s figures also revealed that the number of Kiwis migrating to Australia had hit an annual high.
A net 35,800 people migrated to Australia in the year to November, surpassing the previous annual record of 35,400 in December 2008…’

Life is too cheap in N.Z now. The bastard who shot-dead a school teacher while she was cleaning her teeth in a national park- out in one year.
I said to a young lady from WA the other morning “Look- it’s safer to transfer fuel in an electrical storm in your country (Melbourne incident) than to walk home after work in N.Zs capital (Wellington mugging/murder).
That’s (one reason) why I’m joining the 35,800 in a couple of months.

      Spot-on, DonD.
Which State are you coming to?

I was thinking of “going troppo”, NT. However a bloke I was chatting with also on holidays in QLD Oct said WA is booming.

(Look more seriously once I know whats happening in March-)

The worst part is N.Z doesn’t feel like my country anymore- and, never thought I’d say it, but I’m missing the place!

Sure, WA is booming, DonD but I believe Queensland is the better long-term prospect, especially if the mining boom ends. And there’s enormous pressure on housing prices in WA and Darwin.

Nth Qld is/has been in the back of my mind. I have a mate who’s relocated there recently.
Also, must track down a cousin- last heard of west of Charters Towers.
Could be sooner than later- just showed a tourist girl the Turangi Welcome Advert.

If Obama gets reelected next year, this Yank is heading for the South Pacific.

In fact, next April I’m moving to Hawaii – which is 3,000 miles closer to Australia than where I live now.

Then come next November, if Dear Leader Commie is reelected, I plan to fly to Melbourne, Australia and set up the American Government-In-Exile.

I have no doubt I’ll be joined by many thousands of my countrymen – and we will start the Pacific Liberation Movement aimed at the reconquest of America…After first overthrowing the commie regime in power in New Zealand…Then next to fall will be American Samoa, followed by Guam, the Philippines, Midway and Hawaii – a Pacific island hopping campaign in reverse with the ever popular feint at the Aleutian islands while the fleet sails out of Pearl Harbor to San Diego. In San Diego we hope to link up with the New Confederate Army and roll north in California to Los Angeles and San Francisco in order to smash the Leftists in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. In Seattle we link up with the Montana Rangers and march on Denver, Colorado and…

Yeah, I know, “Ronbo lay off the beer before noon!”
