    They had two polite comments on their scumbag site pointing out a bit of truth and reality, and this in their deranged and clueless state of being morphs into an “attack” and of “trolls”.

    One good thing about these communist scum so overusing that word it will soon become quite useless as a means to justify the left’s bigotry.

    Even now, most people know that when the left allege someone to be a troll, its usually means that person has told them of some truth they would rather avoid.

    Another thing- the left’s presence on the internet has been a great wake up to many people who never before understood what despicable people they are. The hate mongers, cowards and liars at the “Hand Mirror” have been outstandingly useful in that respect.

        The people at the Hand Mirror make my flesh crawl. Even the perfectly reasonable comment that those who want “public broadcasting” should pay for their own propaganda is apparently “trolling”.
        Can you imagine what a country with scumbags like these in charge would be like?

    (1) I wonder if they manage to join two data points together: 25% of New Zealanders are “new”, and yet there is a net migration loss each year. I wonder, is it the lazy, slothful, mendicant leftists abandoning the ship? Or is it those who are fed up to the back teeth of being told what to do and having their pockets picked at every turn to pay for some feminazi’s social engineering experiment who are fleeing to seek a better life elsewhere?     (2) These “new” New Zealanders presumably know about the part of the world whence they came, and they left it because New Zealand appears “better” for whatever reason. Why then, would they want a “window to the world” whence they came? One assumes that rather than a “window” it would be a rear-view mirror, and if these “new” New Zealanders wax so nostalgic for the third-world shit-holes they previously called home, why do they not fuck off back there? The answer to the question being obvious (“free” money, cheap dope and useless policing in their adopted homeland), what attraction is there to watch on TV the place they fled?

      Because he doesn’t value his own culture, the prick feels free to give it away to any primitives who want to destroy it. Of course, having been on the taxpayer tit all his life he also sees nothing wrong with the Kiwi taxpayer picking up the tab for all this “diversity”.
      If these people value their own culture so much there’s a perfectly simple solution–bugger off back to where they came from. As for “do not preclude other loyalties”…oh yes they do, in the case of muslims. One can’t be loyal to two utterly opposed cultures and ideologies.

        He believes in quotas and affirmitive action yet thinks kiwis that cant master mandarin or provide links to asia will find themselves without work!!! :x

        Spoonley said once in a lecture that in the next 5-10 years kiwis must provide links to asia to employers or face a life of poverty WTF!!!!!How am I supposed to provide links to asia??????I mean how is that inclusive and diverse as he advocates.

    I like the Hand Mirror site, I have posted several times, have been called a troll, been accused of not getting the point, but I have to say, it’s a decent read and they do have good debates. I find the main moderator, Julie I think her name is, to be brilliant.

    When it comes to social issues, I lean to the Left, when it comes to Business/economy I lean to the right. I love Obama and disliked Bush.

    I hate the Minto’s and Bradford’s and Skyes of the world, not because of their beliefs, but I believe them to be hypocritical, and I have gone to the Hand Mirror and posted when I thought a writer may of been hypocritical.

    All and all, I like the site.

    Just my two cents worth.

      FYI, the opinion of most commenters here is that Obama is both the worst and most destructive President ever elected. And if course, he’s not even eligible for the office. Bush on the other hand doesn’t have many friends here either, because he’s a crony capitalist.

      The Hand Mirror represents everything wrong with New Zealand society. Their views are the very reason New Zealand is struggling just above Third World status.

      And to conclude, it is simply not possible to lean left on social issues and right on economic ones. Leftist social policies always, without exception, require socialist economic policies to support them. I’d recommend you research Thinas Sowell or Milton Friedman on the topic.

    Not it’s NOT, and it isn’t about to (yet). It’s still holding together (just) because of the Western tradition/s that built it, and to which the country still (again, just) subscribes.

    The only reason the “multicultural” experiment is being tried in Western countries is because such countries are stable, Judeo-Christian and relatively organic. The moment adherence to and acknowledgement of those basics is abandoned, the place will go steadily down the tubes, finally coming to rest in a state roughly resembling the religio/tribal shit-holes from whence the “multiculturalists” came in the first place. This is the thing the Spoonleys of his world appear to be incapable of understanding.
