“Trawler–A Journey Through the North Atlantic” by Redmond O’Hanlon.
A mad, absorbing, absolute gem of a book and you’ll never look at deep-sea fishermen in quite the same way again. Utterly brilliant! (never mind the slow start–he chronicles wonderfully the descent into madness of the whole crew, a descent fuelled by work and weather and sleeplessness. And they do this year in, year out, the tough, crazy bastards.)
Ever read the Para Handy tales?
No. What’s it/they about? And if you want to read this book now I’ve finished it, I’ll post it to you.
A very cherished book that the old man let me read a long time ago, so long that I cannot remember the plot, but remember being fascinated but there was a great deal I didn’t understand

Looks interesting, Ciaron.
I’m reading the story of Nancy Wake.
We are going to need more like here in days to come…
Now there was one brave lady!
