Americans love their traditions but perhaps the time has come for Republicans to say no to rigged debates. The VP debate will be the Mod v Ryan, with Biden popping in every now and then.
The one consolation here, Brian, is that Ryan will wipe the floor with her.
Presidential debates have been a 2-on-1 affair since at least Goldwater in the 60′s, and probably before that as well. It ain’t gonna change any time soon, unless the RepubliCrats say “No” (which they’re not gonna), or the Tea Party movement takes over the Republican Party leadership (which it might, given a little more time).
I fear that you memory is misleading you.
The first debates were between Kennedy and Nixon in 1960.
There were NO debates in 1964 (Johnson/Goldwater), 1968 (Nixon/Humphrey) or 1972 (Nixon/McGovern).
Whatever the situation in later elctions it obviously didn’t apply to Goldwater.
My memory must have failed me.
I passed by within 1 metre of The Won (NZ Prime Minister John Key) this morning. I didn’t feel any warm glow of enlightenment from being in The Presence (although I wasn’t able to touch the hem of his garment) and had assumed there were no effects. But perhaps being so close to The Won has had an effect; perhaps I’m getting forgetful and stupid. Just like Him?

KG, a big no-no with the dems and holder are photo ids to vote saying it may be racist or some such. This week driving by one of our local black universities, their info sign said something like must have an id to enroll. Wish I had taken a pic of it. You must have a photo id for damn near everything. There is literally so much crap.
