New Zealand’s constitutional “debate”

Is a sham, a farce and an insult to the people of NZ. It’s a disreputable distortion of what’s supposed to be the democratic process, a cynical exercise in spin, arrogance and flat-out lies.

  1. Michael in Nelson says:

Heads I win Tails you lose….typical far left practice.

So KG, what is new here?

  2. ZenTiger says:

An important thing like a constitution, you’d want some far thinking people that understood the true meaning of words like “freedom” and “values” and “rights”.

There are a couple around for this debate, but they will probably be jumped on by the marxist fools and those that subscribe to apartheid. So, the government in other words.

  3. KG says:

Nothing new, Michael, but something of unique importance.

Those three words, Zen, are abused, misunderstood and derided in today’s NZ. (And today’s Australia, too).
The only “freedom” the left is interested in is the freedom to be sexually promiscuous.

  4. Ronbo says:

Does the Left really want to go there?

Don’t they realize that there are radicals like ole Ronbo out there who would like to change the constitution and remove Leftists from the planet :?:

LEAVE THE CONSTITUTION ALONE, YOU SOCIALIST BASTARDS, LIKE THE BEATLES SAID IN 1968, OR BE PREPARED TO FACE TERMINATION WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE!

You say you want a revolution Well, you know We all want to change the world
You tell me that it’s evolution Well, you know We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction Don’t you know that you can count me out Don’t you know it’s gonna be all right? All right, all right

You say you got a real solution Well, you know We’d all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution Well, you know We’re all doing what we can
But if you want money For people with minds that hate All I can tell is brother you have to wait Don’t you know it’s gonna be all right? All right, all right

You say you’ll change the constitution Well, you know We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution Well, you know You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow Don’t you know it’s gonna be all right? All right, all right
All right, all right, all right All right, all right, all right All right, all right!

    @KG:

Speaking of the 1960s – Excellent movie on the life and death of Sir Thomas More, who was about the only honest judge and constitutional expert in England under the tyrant King Henry VIII….

The conversation on this very subject between More and his son-in-law Roper:

If the International Left cuts down all the laws in the Anglosphere – what is to protect their Big White Butts from well armed patriots like us :?:

There is not a gated community, or a security force on the planet good enough to protect Leftists from the righteous anger of We The People :!:

  6. KG says:

“Yes, I’d give the Devil benefit of law for my own safety’s sake”

    Exactly.
“A Man For All Seasons” is one of the great movies of all time.

  7. Angel says:

 we have the same nightmare here KG!..oiy!

  8. Ronbo says:

    @KG:

“A Man For All Seasons” is one of the great movies of all time.

    I totally agree :!:

The man of high principle and morals goes up against the tyrant-king and his loses head, but at the end of the day, his cause triumphs and the Church makes him a saint.

On the other hand, Henry VIII – the immoral, corrupt and degenerate English king – died a dog’s death because of a loathsome sexually transmitted disease – and today is remembered only as the murderer of his wives – and many good men.

  9. The Gantt Guy says:

KG, ‘The only “freedom” the left is interested in is the freedom to be sexually promiscuous.’

With all due respect, I think you do leftards a great disservice. You have rightly identified one of the secondary freedoms they crave, but I think there is a primary one from which all other freedoms spring. The freedom they really crave is freedom from responsibility.

Or, as Loki said so eloquently in The Avengers:

Loki: I am Loki, of Asgard. And I am burdened with glorious purpose.
    Selvig: Loki, brother of Thor.
Nick Fury: We have no quarrel with your people.
Loki: An ant has no quarrel with a boot.
Nick Fury: You planning to step on us?
Loki: I come with glad tidings. Of a world made free.
    Nick Fury: Free from what?
Loki: Freedom. Freedom is life’s great lie. Once you accept that, in your heart… [taps Selvig with the spear] you will know peace.
Nick Fury: Yeah, you say peace. I kinda think you mean the other thing.

And people doubt me when I say that movie is a documentary!

Back on-topic, the “review” is a sham. The outcome is predetermined. New Zealand will have a Constitution based on that of Bolivia, where tribal law is supreme, private property rights non-existent and apartheid embedded. It’s a done deal.

I fundamentally disagree New Zealand needs a written Constitution, but even if it did, who would write it? I’ve looked closely at every one of the 122 mendacious scum who disgrace the Parliament, and I don’t see a James Madison among them. Nor a single one fit to so much as shine Madison’s shoes.

For shame, New Zealand, for shame. We have allowed some utterly disgusting things done to us in the past, but they literally pale into nothingness when compared to this destruction of our once-proud little nation. It makes me sick to my stomach.

And still, the sheeple sleep safe in their pens.

  10. Paul Marsden says:

Why are submissions on the “constitutional debate” been actively solicited on Maori Television and not on any other channel?

What on earth is going on here..??

  11. KG says:

Is that a trick question, Paul? ;-)

  12. Ronbo says:

All those in favor of the Maori barbarians seizing the property of the white man in New Zealand say “Aye.”

    “AYE!”

    Motion carried.

That’s what is going on in New Zealand and we have seen the same thing in southern Africa.

  13. Pix says:

I believe the reason for the review and write up of a constitution with the treaty as supreme law stems from quiet little plan the pollies have for the country to become a republic after the Queen passes on. When she dies and the country cuts it’s ties to mother England the obligation the crown has toward the treaty is null and void. So they are getting this sorted out now before the country becomes a republic.
The only solution that I see is for everyone to get in behind John Ansell’s campaign and vote for his political party next year. That’s if he forms one in time. Failing that we are stuffed. Those that aren’t brown that is. If this constitution is enacted with the treaty as supreme law then I am outta here!

  14. KG says:

” If this constitution is enacted with the treaty as supreme law then I am outta here!”
You won’t be the only one, Pix. NZ will lose a lot of skilled people, even though Australia’s economy will be struggling a bit by then.

  15. Pix says:

Australia will come right after Tony Abbott sorts out the left and gets the economy moving again. NZ will be buggered forever if the treaty is enshrined in a constitution. I’ll take my chances with Australia.

  16. KG says:

    A wise choice.
