First Amendment rights? hahahahaha!

Francis Porretto  points out that the Obama Administration has decided otherwise.
From his outstanding post:
“..What was that about freedom of speech? Apparently it’s trumped by Bill Killian’s opinions about whether you’re being sufficiently deferential to the sensitivities of the savages who subscribe to Muhammad’s violent, imperialist, misogynistic, pedophilic, totalitarian, and utterly hateful creed.

What creed, Mr. Killian? It’s Islam, Mr. Killian, and I dare you to prosecute me for saying so. I’ll cite the Koran in my defense — I’ll read the whole BLEEP!ing thing into the court records if I must — and I’ll hold press conference after press conference denouncing you, Holder, Obama, and Islam for daring to infringe on my Constitutionally protected rights.

Go ahead, Mr. Killian. Make me your test case. Let’s see how you like being a nationally reviled advocate for totalitarianism. ..”
He concludes:
“Either we stand and fight now, with what resources remain to us, or we accept fetters we will never remove…which will pass from us to our children and theirs, until better men than we, in some future unimaginable by us of today, should rise to the task as we have not…”

I’ve been saying for some years now that the process of enslavement will only be halted by a combination of guns and guts.
Does anyone seriously doubt that now?

Horatius, by Thomas Babington, Lord Macaulay

‘..The following is a snippet from the great classic.

    Then out spake brave Horatius

    The Captain of the Gate:

“To every man upon this Earth

    Death cometh soon or late.

And how can man die better

    Than facing fearful odds,

For the ashes of his fathers

And the temples of his gods.”

Schoolboys have been reading of brave Horatius at the bridge for over two thousand years. Why has this long ago tale of a Roman soldier holding off the Etruscan host so compelling? I believe it is because it is a tale of honor, of bravery, of a warrior’s determination to fight for his country, his culture, his religion, his wife and children, to the death if need be. We are facing such a challenge today in militant Islam, on the rise once more, at war to the death with the once Christian west, a thousand year war that did not end at the gates of Vienna or at Lepanto. Do we have such a man, a Horatius, to stand at the bridge and deny the Muslims their victory over us, a victory that would reduce us to slaves? Will we see Muslim savagery for what it is, or will we insist Islam is a religion of peace, despite all evidence to the contrary? Will we stand and fight before a city dies from a Muslim nuke? Multiculturalism and political correctness have nearly destroyed the will of the West to resist, but resist we must, or we will surely lose all, including the ashes of our fathers and the temples of our gods…’

Fine questions all, KG, if all rhetorical.

I suspect one difference between Horatius and any modern-day equivalent, is that Horatius faced foes from only one end of the bridge. Today, his equivalent would be assailed from all sides.

      • KG says:

Well, that’s surely true enough, Gantt. I’d guess that most people are feeling overwhelmed by the need to fight on so many fronts at once.
The key to this is to identify the source of the enemy’s power and to focus on attacking that, but conservatives are by their nature indifferent to collective action.
That has to change, and soon, if there’s to be a peaceful resolution to this.
But it won’t happen, hence the “guns and guts” comment I made above.

    1. Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.
    2. Never go outside the experience of your people.
    3. Whenever possible go outside the experience of the enemy.

    9. The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.
    10. The major premise of tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.
