the Australian Catholic University’s Professor Neil Ormerod

is a crypto-fascist.
‘Ormerod writes:
I do in fact support free speech. However, like many political rights free speech is a relative right, relative to the common good to which it contributes. People may have a right to their opinions, but not necessarily a right to express those (sic) opinion in a way which does damage to the common good…’

And who decides what is the “common good”? Yep, our old friends the government – and their cronies and lickspittles.

He is talking about privileges not about rights. There are no political rights .

I doubt he’s a fascist, more a dumb fool of an academic. There are many such people around who think that the singing kumbaya and pretending no one is out to wrap their steely fingers around their throats.

I would have thought the Catholics would have the brains to see the war being waged upon them. Sadly it seems not. There is more on this story at Andrew Bolts website, apparently this buffoon thinks that only speech that’s for the common good should be allowed.

Problem with that is a few days back Bolt had a little graph showing the steady decline in the number of Christians in Australia. The day will come when the majority are not Christian in this country and then this fool will learn what it feels like when someone tells him with a cold face that waffling on about the death of a savior who then floated into the sky 3 days later isn’t for the common good, so please shut the fuck up.

Even those in the Jewish faith are opposed to free speech in this country, preferring to push hatred and bigotry underground; they won’t learn from history. Maybe they’ll learn when one day they find that muslims are openly calling them apes, pigs and whatever while they’re forced to hide their skull caps and encouraged to distance themselves from that troublesome little democracy over in the middle east .
