Driving back to work yesterday I had two encounters with people on bicycles,particularly young,black people on bicycles.
This isn’t an unusual thing,lots of black kids ride where I live,but the younger generations ride with attitude.Particularly the attitude that they and only they own the road and the rules just don’t apply to them,this attitude occurs elsewhere as well,but more on that later.
The first encounter was as I was turning right at a traffic light.I came to a stop,checked traffic and started my turn,out of nowhere here comes a 20 something black boy coming around the corner,against traffic,cutting in so close he pushed the passenger side mirror out of whack.The second came a couple blocks later on a side street.Another 20 something black boy,this time riding with traffic,occasionally when he was on the same side of the street.He was riding zig-zag,lolly gagging around,talking on his cellphone and blocking traffic.He got kind of indignant when I came up behind him and layed on my horn,but finally got out of the way and allowed myself and two other cars to pass.One never sees an older generation black person doing these things,it’s always the younger group,the entitled group doing stupid stuff.
As a retired state policeman once explained to me,police and sheriff’s deputies look for things that stand out.There simply aren’t enough of them to watch everybody all the time,so they focus on things that get their attention.As he colorfully put it”arseholes always rise to the top,and when they do we knock them back down”.
People on bikes ignoring the traffic rules,groups of teenagers Jay walking in mass across busy streets,teenagers driving down the road with the seat leaned back so far they can’t see over the wheel.A car load of blacks,or for that matter whites,in the wrong neighborhood at 2:00 am in the morning,or any car going down the road with no plates,lights etc.
So it comes as no surprise then that recently in Ferguson,Missouri when minutes after committing the strong arm robbery of a convenience store,that two young black men jay walking down the middle of a city street would get the attention of a passing police cruiser. The officer according to witnesses,stopped and asked the two men to simply get out of the middle of the street.But how dare he?How dare he demand of the urban afro-elite that they obey the same rules as everyone else?The ignorant,entitled attitude and stupid mentality common in so many black youth took over and the rest is now history.
With that said,I don’t deny that racism does exist and I don’t deny that many black folks have been wrongly accused and mistreated over the years in this country.However,how much anger towards blacks from whites,hispanics and asians today is the result of racism versus the stupid,lazy,entitlement attitude that many blacks not only have,but frequently practice?That segment of the black community is despised by whites,asians and hispanics almost universally,but it never occurs to that segment that it is they who are the cause,it simply cannot be the fault of the afro-urban elite,so therefore it must be racism.
Where did this attitude come from?Why do many older blacks not exhibit the same sh–ty behavior?Thomas Sowell has some answers-

The initial collision between alleged lawbreaker and law enforcer is of little consequence to me, because criminals and cops collide daily. It is the inevitable aftermath caused by cultural sicknesses that are now embedded in several groups of assholes that I want to discuss.

That is a great rant,but he did leave out a few details.In Mo,the only reason the Swat team rolled was because regular patrol cops were not enough to stop the city from being completely looted and burned to the ground.In decades past the National Guard or State Police would have been called out with orders to shoot looters on sight,so I’m not too down on the cops actually using their gear to get control again.
If you look at the charts,you will see that since Obama has been elected cops have gotten more aggressive,but mainly because the people they come in contact with the most have become more aggressive prior.

Younger American blacks have been steeped in the racialists’ cant for so long, and to the exclusion of all else, that they’re not American; they’re simply black.
Older black Americans, though they’ve been exposed to the racialists’ harangues as well, were raised to different standards. They tend to be more American than black.
However, the sting in the tail is that the older blacks, in the main, refrain from disciplining the younger ones when they go wild. This might be due to apathy; it might be due to fear. But it’s at least partly due to the very same “us versus them” mindset that licenses the young black thugs to use the death of one of their number at a white cop’s hands as an excuse for looting and destruction.

I would say you are spot on,another thing I take issue with these days are all the racial code words that are used by the race pimps.The one phrase I hate the most is “under representation”
If there aren’t enough Black Astrophysicists or enough white people in jail,it’s because of under representation and it’s racist white people’s fault.
Never mind if the reasons are black students scoring in the bottom 25% in Math and Science and never mind that blacks are responsible for most violent crimes.The story being sold is “if at first you don’t succeed or even try,blame it all on whitey.
