“Dean Knight, a constitutional law lecturer at Victoria University who supports change, said he expected support to lift when the alternative designs were released.

“I think the numbers will vary dramatically once people see a range of robust designs.”

    Sooo….another words,stuff the polls we’re still gonna change it?http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_scratch.gif

  2. KG says:

What the majority of Kiwis want will right now make no difference. A vociferous minority is already mounting a relentless propaganda campaign and enough sheeple will be fooled by it.

    • Wombat says:

This is just another step in the process towards hanging the bums.

The more people that realise they’re being ruled from on high the closer we get to torches and pitchforks.

      • KG says:

        I bloody hope so.

        • Wombat says:

The politicians have always cast themselves as the arbiters of the peace.

What this amounts to in practice is much like a high priest who takes the sacrifices of his flock in the name of their god and instead uses them to pay off the barbarians at the gates, while enjoying the power and prestige his appointment provides him at the same time.

But the barbarians are starting to bristle at the gates no matter how many sacrifices are laid at their feet.

The people toil to keep the priests fat and happy, and to keep their god (nation, democracy, whatever) appeased. They have given up the fruits of their labour and their freedom, but the barbarians shouts grow louder and now, one by one, people are beginning to realise who their sacrifices are really being sent to.

They are beginning to see that their priests are not simply arrogant, pompous leeches, but liars and thieves.

More important still, they see that they are not beset by angry gods but by simple creatures that bleed die.

The priests have no room left to manoeuvre. The barbarians grow in ranks and so does their hunger. Yet, what further sacrifices the priests ask of their people cross the line from burdensome to unbearable.

No matter what they claim, the priests have no magic. They cannot divide five loaves of bread and two fish between five thousand men. This makes what follows inevitable.

Soon the gates will open, whether they be pushed inward by the barbarians or outward by the people. Who triumphs rests in part on you and me. The fate of the priests rests in part on you and me.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some PT to do. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_sad.gif

if they change it – the only thing I want to run up the flagpole is that phoney girlyboy by his ponytailed short and curlies.

    • Wombat says:

Ponytail’s a waste of time. Just mix some epoxy and bind the suckers to hemp rope. Put the noose around the other end so when nad-fluff gives way the rest of the job gets done.

  4. G P says:

I think this is change for the sake of change.

If the flag is changed to a silver fern on black I won’t like it as I think this has been overused for sports motifs.
