Today’s Green is the old Red, and Reds are all about making sure their opponents are silenced – one way or another.

  2. Free Speech is stuffed with stuff. How about people don’t buy from stuff, and let stuff get stuffed.

  3. cadwallader says:

“Hoax advocacy” is this the new term for speaking the truth? What a vile bunch of “editors” must inhabit the nearly defunct Stuff outfit.

  4. Adolf Fiinkensein says:

Leftists/”progressives”/socialists are not welcome here. Pay for your own soapbox.

    Hypocrisy?

    Yep.

    • KG says:

      Nope.
I’d expect better from you, Adolf.
Early on, we tried to engage with leftists because we assumed they would come into what is obviously a conservative blog with the intention of civilized debate, or at least disagreement.
      Foolish optimism on my part.
Instead, we were met with ad-hominum attacks, foul slurs, threats against my wife and myself and so forth. And an absolute refusal to stick to facts and reply to inconvenient questions.
I didn’t intend to pay for the privilege of being insulted by lowlifes – and pointing out that they were not welcome here and free to pay for their own space is in no way hypocrisy. When I host somebody in my home I don’t expect them to shit on the carpet.
Further, Stuff is a national news site and as such has a responsiblity to either be politically neutral in their reporting of political issues or to make it clear that they’re partisan players. Otherwise, they’re simply a propaganda outlet.

      • mawm says:

I agree with your above reply. However Stuff have made it clear that they are partisan players by not allowing “a venue for denialism or hoax advocacy”ie. anything contrary to their propaganda. It probably should be put on their front page alongside their banner in bold capital red letters so that all their readers are fully informed. How they can welcome “robust debate” when they refuse to allow the contrary opinion to be aired is a beyond me. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wacko.gif

I barely glance at the NZ media anymore – 3rd rate journalism, regurgitation of propaganda from the usual left wing sources, the local trivia (which still astounds after 20 years) that makes it into a broadsheet, and left wing opinion that is barely coherent or literate. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_cool.gif

    In case you missed it:
‘Jordan Peterson Threatens Everything of Value In NZ’

    https://youtu.be/jTnrvENcrvI
Follows the banning of a number of conservative speakers visiting and/or speaking this country.

Mayor, Muslims & Marxists unite to ban conservative speakers …
Massey University bans Don Brash from speaking
Auckland Council to be taken to court over ban on right-wing speakers
Brash talk to student club cancelled due to security concerns …

Ha ha, you just got to laugh at that one. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif

  7. mort says:

we welcome scientific debate as long as your science doesn’t contradict our Davos accepted dogma designed to keep the filth in their place, with ever increasing burdens of taxation and a failure to pass on the benefits of technology. The objective of which is to continue the progressive enslavement of the masses, slowly reducing their freedoms and indenturing them in no win situations.

    • Robertv says:

Only in a free society things become better and cheaper or disappear. Government should only exist to protect that free society.
As soon as direct taxation is introduced a society is no longer free because now government(those in power) gave itself the right to control every aspect of your life.
      Cancers always start small.

  8. I trust you are listening to Sean Plunket on Magic Talk regarding Jordan Peterson?

  9. There was a most satisfying moment when Sean told Jordan
how NZ’s Minister for Women recently said “old white men” should step aside on boards to make room for women. Jordan inquires as to Julianne Genter’s gender and race, and suggests that, as a white person, she should “bloody well” step aside and make room for someone of colour.
Since asked for her response to this interview Genter has apparently tweeted that Peterson and Plunket are “drunk uncles.” She refused to front on his show to explain her tweet despite his repeated invitations.

    • KG says:

Of course she won’t explain her tweet. Virtue signalled, job done. Mustn’t confuse the message with facts.
The depressing thing is, so many indoctrinated lemmings will agree with the tweet without bothering (or being able) to process the content and the implications.

  10. Apologies. Julie Anne Genter. I thought it looked odd.

    • KG says:

They can talk, but it’s always just talk, isn’t it? And they’re very good at advocating positions and policies provided someone else pays the price.

  11. I just watched the full interview after first hearing it live. Have sent the link to both of my grown up children I think it’s that compelling.

    • KG says:

If only we had a way of getting it in front of more people, Lindsay. The media here will simply pop it down the memory hole.
Here’s the youtube link to it, for those with ClipGrab or something similar:

Thanks very much for the heads-up. Now I’ll go back to watching Macbeth.

  12. Darin says:

Here is a segment of a podcast Peterson did where he explains why even good people can go on to do very bad things and why it’s very rare for anyone to stand against the crowd-

  13. Cadwallader says:

I am fortunate to be able to see Professor Peterson in Wellington this coming Thursday evening. I am going with my sons aged 31 and 23. I purchased the book about a year ago and have read it twice and dipped into it again from time to time. My older son has read it too. If you wish I shall write up next weekend and post it here. Needless to say I am really looking forwards to the occasion.

  14. Simon Wilson (who sat next to Sean Plunket at the Jordan Peterson show in Auckland last night) has done a hit job.

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12205135

I rang Sean about it. I am really hot on the issue of rape accusations and shifting to a guilty till proven innocent paradigm
    – promoted by the Greens and Labour. He was appalled and says he will (try and) get Simon on the show tomorrow.

    • KG says:

A typical Simon Wilson sly hit-piece. The NZ Herald is where he belongs, it’s where slime and propaganda share the bed.
Wilson isn’t fit to shine Peterson’s shoes and I suspect that one some level he’s aware of that.

  15. I rang Sean Plunket about this and he says he’ll get Simon Wilson on the show tomorrow. He was very disappointed. I am hot about the issue of changing the burden of proof from the accuser to the accused in rape cases. Travesty of justice. And I expect that is what JP has expressed.

  16. Only one of my last three attempts to comment has appeared. Sean Plunket is going to tackle Simon Wilson (if he’ll front) tomorrow. I rang him to object to this propaganda. I assume it has arisen from the moves to shift the burden of proof to the accused in rape cases and Jordan Peterson’s position on such.

    • KG says:

I’m not sure why the spam filter is capturing your comments, Lindsay. My apologies.
Sometimes it just takes a while to “learn”.

” I am hot about the issue of changing the burden of proof from the accuser to the accused in rape cases.”
So am I. It’s an appalling proposal, driven by idiots and idealogues who can’t see that weakening ANY basic principle of justice weakens the protections of everybody.
But then, justice is a dead white male construct, so fair game for these clowns, some of whom now sit on the bench.

Rachel Stewart has an excellent opinion piece concerning Peterson here:
      https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12205281
I’m amazed the Herald published it!

  17. paul scott says:

Unfortunately the left have bagged Jordan Pettersen into a never ending position of defending rational and straight forward truths, against deranged feminism.
For a while he was developing well in the lines of Joseph Campbell who specialised in man’s archetypes and the reality of long standing cultural effects including the value of Christianity. They will wear him down to a thin chisel if his family can not take him out of the celebrity circuit.
