‘A constitution is not a thing in name only, but in fact. It has not an ideal, but a real existence; and whereever it cannot be produced in a visible form there is none. A Constitution is a thing antecendent to a government, and the government is only the creature of a constitution…. It is the body of elements, to which you can refer, and quote article by article….. A Constitution therefore, is to a government, what the laws… are to a court…’

Welshmen sing…
Got that, gun grabbers?
ETS: Que Bono?
‘Fuel price rises eat into tax cuts
Petrol prices will rise tomorrow as the Government’s emissions trading scheme hits households and businesses’
Just answer the question, Mr. Key.
The kenyan’s nominee for SCOTUS:
Elena Kagan’s Own Words: It’s Fine If The Law Bans Books Because Government Won’t Really Enforce It
A “government of laws” eh…according to this scumbag college professor marxist, Americans are supposed to trust their liberties to the goodwill and integrity of the government of the day.
Figures. These totalitarian pricks really believe that liberty should be something granted (or not) by elected “representatives”.
Something fishy…..
Wrongly convicted of rape, subsequently released and paid compensation. But get this:
‘It emerged after Mr Jama’s conviction that a DNA sample collected from the woman had been contaminated with DNA taken by the same doctor in a hospital 28 hours earlier from a woman who had been intimate with Mr Jama.’
I smell a big, fat rat…..
Kiwi voters…feeling screwed over yet?
‘Iwi will get 2000km of coastline’
So much for assurances that all Kiwis would have access to the coast–de-facto bans on whitey already exist on parts of East Cape and the Far North. Now this comment from ‘Medusa’:
‘…I have already been turned away four times from different fishing areas by ‘iwi’ . In one instance they had erected their own barbed wire strewn ‘gate’ across the access road and were standing guard to ensure no ‘whitey’ sneaked through.’
Apartheid–don’t ya just love it?
Crude, blatant, race-based…
That’s the Department of Justice under this Administration:
‘J. Christian Adams, an attorney with the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division who resigned rather than comply with the Department’s ruling that he not respond to the U.S. Civil Rights Division’s subpoenas to testify about the dismissal of the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party in Philadelphia, tells all in the Washington Times.
……”The New Black Panther case was the simplest and most obvious violation of federal law I saw in my Justice Department career. Because of the corrupt nature of the dismissal, statements falsely characterizing the case and, most of all, indefensible orders for the career attorneys not to comply with lawful subpoenas investigating the dismissal, this month I resigned my position as a Department of Justice (DOJ) attorney…”
Welcome
There’s still lots of work to do before we’re properly up and running. TypeKit fonts don’t work, so I can’t change the look of things as much as is needed . The post box is too narrow and it doesn’t seem possible to import a smileys widget. In the meantime any comments, tips and suggestions are welcome.
AAARGH! And I can’t make the pics over on the right into clickable links! I hate this stuff….
Font Burner plugin installed. Now to learn how to use it.
Aha! Thanks to Patrick for the code– the pics are now clickable links!
Tiny New Zealand village up for sale
The tiny town of Otira, in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, is on the market for $NZ1 million ($817,060). The village’s owners, Bill and Christine Hennah, made the purchase in 1998 after passing through the town and “feeling sorry for it”, The Press said today. They paid $NZ80,000 ($65,290) for the hotel, school, railway station, townhall and 18 houses. The Kiwi couple, now in their 60s, are asking for $NZ350,000 ($285,520) for the hotel, or $NZ1 million ($817,060) for the whole lot. source
