Southern’s Serenade – Cajun

For about the last hour or two, I have been looking at Cajun music videos. One time I had a great Cajun cd and as usual when you are raising a family, cds tend to disappear because children think everything is free until they have to pay for it. They will somehow lose your cd for you. Today, people have 6,000 songs on their ipods or whatever device that is now in vogue. In my day we had 45 rpm records then later LP albums. I had thousands of them. The value of those vinyl pieces was high to me. So now we have youtube and tons of music, lessons, opinions and whatever! This is overwhelming to the common person, least I think so, especially if you start looking through all of them. Mind boggling. Perhaps the snakes in the FCC here in the Steaks can regulate all this stuff for us so we commoners can understand what it is they want? There is a bumper sticker occasionally seen, “Beef Won the West” that has a lot of truth in it, cattle drovers diving herds to the railhead in Kansas City or elsewhere, open range [good movie], free graze. Some might say it was gold in them thar hills, but really you can’t eat gold. Not everybody can have gold, BUT most anybody here can have a steak. Beef.

This Serenade started  by looking for “girl singers” but soon moved on and suddenly intuitively on Youtube pops up Cajun music. This music originates with French descendents to the New World, whose ancestors settled Lousiana way back when, in the steak of Louisiana here in the United Steaks of America. And I like it but do believe it is better heard live with some two stepping shaking bodies nearby. Let’s do some Cajun: Continue reading

Crosshairs

Target. Aim. Fire. Shoot. Gun. Destroy. Wipe Out. Obliterate. Cripple. Neutralize. Victory. Rout. Slaughter. Crush. Annihilate. Frontal assault. Salvo. Nuke, carpet-bomb, ambush, put the boot in, ASSASSINATE, eviscerate

Just a few of the words the left and their media poodles would like to ban us from using. So we’ll use them–and other verboten words–as often as we please.

some good news:

‘Newspoll shows NSW Labor hurtling towards utter, utter devastation at the March polls. Twenty per cent primary support leaves it battling the Greens for Opposition status, and the two-party support is just as disastrous:
On a two-party preferred basis, Labor is trailing on 34 per cent to the Coalition’s 66 per cent.’ Andrew Bolt

‘pro-abortion politics gutted normal inspection of abortion horror clinic’

‘The Pennsylvania grand jury that indicted Dr. Kermit Gosnell for murder and infanticide for his botched abortions carried out in horrifyingly unsanitary conditions also has revealed a second scandal:
The Pennsylvania Department of Health abruptly decided, for political reasons, to stop inspecting abortion clinics at all. The politics in question were not anti-abortion, but pro. With the change of administration from Governor Casey to Governor Ridge, officials concluded that inspections would be “putting a barrier up to women” seeking abortions.

“Even nail salons in Pennsylvania are monitored more closely for client safety,” the report states. “Without regular inspections, providers like Gosnell continue to operate; unlawful and dangerous third-trimester abortions go undetected; and many women, especially poor women, suffer.”

The shackles of the West..

‘….The Asians couldn’t be guilty of genocide. Why? Because a certain kind of person didn’t think they were smart enough. Today it might be different because after decades of Asian achievement even the Left has grudgingly acknowledged they might actually be capable of being responsible for their own actions. Of the many explanations given for the rise of China and the North Asian countries, one may have been omitted: the freedom they enjoy from the artificialities of modern politically correct culture. They don’t have to listen to Chomsky or read the Guardian. They can light up a smoke, go to the moon, build nuclear reactors, construct a highway in months instead of years — even rescue hostages from pirates, without getting a single letter from some hokey European tribunal…’                    Belmont Club

But the bleeding hearts won’t get the message….

‘KEATING government minister Gary Johns has castigated the Gillard government for relying on old policies that stop indigenous Australians from being part of the mainstream economy in its draft Aboriginal economic development strategy.
Professor Johns, who is associate professor of public policy at the Australian Catholic University’s Public Policy Institute, has submitted a paper to the government’s review of its indigenous economic strategy in which he argues that the government should not be delivering goods and services to indigenous people where they presently live. “Too much of the old paradigm remains in the paper,” Professor Johns writes.
….Professor Johns argues that having indigenous people waiting for opportunities to be delivered to their door is not what they need.
“This has been occurring, especially in northern Australia, without success or benefit for the last 40 years,” he writes.
Professor Johns says any policy that seeks to artificially create an economy without skills and habits of work or genuine local economic activity being present, will fail.’

There are too many very comfortable career bureaucrats making a great living out of these policies, for them to allow things to change. The infrastructure supporting them is massive and hugely expensive.
