a feelgood story, but….

‘TO look and listen to Daniel Roper you would never think that a month ago he was at death’s door.
Melanoma had spread through his body and the Melbourne man, 25, was given two days to live, the Herald Sun reported.
But at the 11th hour a US drug company, hospital ethical boards and brave doctors gave Mr Roper a long shot at life – an experimental course of drugs.
Overnight on February 28 he recovered and, just four days later, he walked out of the Austin Hospital…..’                source

Assuming this story is “as reported” it raises a question in this layman’s mind–of course clinical trials are necessary and of course every care should be taken when developing a new drug before it reaches the market. But in cases such as this, where there’s no realistic hope of recovery why not use whatever drug is available under something like an “urgent experimental” category?  The clinical trials will still go on and provided the patient concerned is able to give informed consent there would seem to be absolutely no down-side. Sometimes, it seems to Wabbit, The System grinds along without any input from commonsense and common humanity.

Should Barry Hussein Soetoro win in 2012 it will be the result of massive voter fraud and illegal funding. If there isn’t fighting in the streets as a result, then the Republic is lost.

An enemy of the Republic

The slimy little Kenyan pretender needs to be removed from office. Any way possible.  And soon.
Obama’s Illegal War
…Once again Congress has been relegated to the status of helpless bystanders watching a rogue President who feels more accountable to the United Nations, NATO, the pantsuit advisory coalition, and the Arab League than to the American people, the Constitution, or public law.’

A Friday night joke from Medusa:

Working people frequently ask retired people what
they do to make their days interesting.
Well, for example, the other day, Mary my wife and I
went into town and visited a shop. We were only in
there for about 5 minutes. When we came out,
there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

We went up to him and I said, ‘Come on, man,
how about giving a senior citizen a break?’
He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.
I called him a dumb ass. He glared at me and started
writing another ticket for having worn-out tires.

So Mary called him a shit head.  He finished the
second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.
Then he started writing a third ticket.
This went on for about 20 minutes..
The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it
and went home. We try to have a little fun each day
now that we’re retired. It’s important at our age.

the next step down that well-worn totalitarian road:

‘What’s Really Behind Obama’s New Push for Gun Control?
John Lott:
Despite the Libyan crisis and ongoing problems with America’s massive deficit, last week President Obama decided it was time to focus on gun control. He wrote an op-ed, challenged the NRA to negotiate new gun control regulations, and met with gun control groups.
Indeed, Obama has been a consistent opponent of gun ownership. He enacted a ban on the importation of semiautomatic guns because, “The U.S. insisted that imports of the aging rifles could cause problems such as firearm accidents.” He has proposed much more extensive reporting requirements on sales of long guns. Obama’s nomination of anti-gun Andrew Traver to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives threatens imposing many new regulations. Still further, the Obama administration has actively pushed for the U.N.’s Arms Trade Treaty and continues to make inaccurate statements about the source of Mexico’s crime guns.
And look at the judges President Obama nominated to the Supreme Court. Both Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan have proven themselves to be adamantly against any protection for individual ownership of guns…’

FFS! #356

‘AN IMMEDIATE investigation has been launched into shocking racist Facebook posts by Australia soldiers in Afghanistan.
And soldiers have been warned they could face military tribunal, censure, discharge or even jail.
Soldiers have described Afghanis as “ragheads”, “dune coons”, “sand niggaz” and “smelly locals” on the social networking site.
…..Phil Lynch, Director of the Human Rights Law Resource Council, said the Facebook posts were antithetical to Australia’s mission in Afghanistan to promote and protect human rights.
“It undermines Australia’s mission, it potentially places at risk the safety of other soldiers and it does nothing to promote peace, justice and harmony in the region,” Mr Lynch said…’    source

Firstly, they’re soldiers fer chrissakes! If the government and smarmy dweebs such Phil Lynch want sensitivity and charm, then send in a gang of hippie social workers to “promote peace, justice and harmony”. And while they’re at it, they might try to persuade the primitive fucking ragheads not to plant roadside bombs, kill their fellow-countrymen and hide among the civilian population. The troops are hamstrung by insane ROE’s when dealing with an enemy who has no respect whatsoever for the laws of warfare or for any norms of civilized behaviour. And I notice those same ragheads aren’t too offended to smuggle themselves into Australia and then leech off those  “insensitive” Aussies…
TURN THE TROOPS LOOSE OR BRING THEM HOME.
Update: Ronbo at the excellent Freedom Fighter’s Journal has a post on this HERE

the Gillard government is enabling the invasion of Australia

‘THE Gillard government has made a spectacular mess of policy towards illegal immigrants and is now in danger of forfeiting a key element of Australian national sovereignty.
The key to the boatpeople phenomenon is to realise that it is not about refugees. It is instead a determined illegal immigration. Piece by piece, the illegal immigrant industry is bending back the Gillard government, breaking its will and breaking its policies.
……More than 80 per cent of illegal immigrants arriving by boat come with no documents, yet nearly all need documents to get to the country they take the boat from. This naturally makes security checks extremely difficult. It also underlines what everyone in the field knows already, that the entire process of granting someone refugee status is almost completely subjective and easily scammed. There is a whole industry based on learning the right answers to questions Australian officials ask. In the first nine months of last year, more than 40 per cent of Afghans were rejected as refugees in their primary assessment but after all appeals were exhausted 96 per cent were accepted. Yet in the same period, some 9577 Afghans applied offshore to come to Australia as refugees and only 951 were accepted and given visas.
What is happening on Christmas Island exactly parallels what has happened in Europe in the past couple of decades. A determined illegal immigration presented itself as an asylum issue and gradually beat back the will of European governments to enforce control of their borders. This determined illegal immigration often used extravagant protest and even self-harm techniques to engage European compassion.
And it worked, just as it is working on Christmas Island. Bowen fatuously declaims that no one engaging in riots and breakouts will benefit from their actions.
Exactly the reverse is true. The government has effectively surrendered its policy and moved hundreds of people to mainland Australia. The Age newspaper obediently called for the end of mandatory detention….’   the rest is  HERE

well, looky here…..

I mentioned the other day that the Kenyan was outsourcing American foreign policy to the UN.
Ed Lasky:
‘Soros heavily involved in the ‘Responsibility to Protect” movement

Barack Obama’s adoption of the “Responsibility to Protect” justification for bombing Libya will create problems. Not only will this lead — and has led to attacks against Israel and calls for international intervention in the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis — but it also has the potential of being applied in a form of lawfare against America.
When we engage militarily in other nations, civilian casualties are inevitable, especially since terrorists hide among civilian populations. There is one influential group that has been in the forefront of efforts to promote the idea that the international community is obligated to take measures (including military ones) to protect civilians. That group is the Global Center for the Responsibility to Protect. Lo and behold! George Soros’s Open Society Institute is one of the two foundations that bankroll this advocacy group (the other, the John D. and Catherine MacArthur Foundation – a group that has, over the years, become known not just for its Genius Awards but also for its funding of left-leaning groups. It is headed by a former State Department official and we know how many of those diplomats think).
Soros, as I have also pointed out , has ties to Samantha Power-Obama’s influential foreign policy adviser and one of the key people responsible for Obama’s decision to attack Libya under the Responsibility to Protect rationale.
President Obama sought the approval of the Arab League and the international community before launching military attacks on Libya. He did not seek Congressional approval. This chronology illustrates his pattern of outsourcing our foreign policy to other nations and multilateral groups (as if the bowing, the abject apology for America’s past actions, his praise for Europe, and other actions had not already indicated his ideology and likely future policies).
Soros, as always, is trying to weaken American sovereignty, harm Israel, and empower the so-called international community (as if the Arab League is not filled with tyrants).
And he has friends in the White House.’

‘A FEISTY reptile has been given a second shot at life after a daring rescue and emergency surgery.
The lace monitor was plucked from a tree off Michelangelo Drive, at Redlynch in Cairns, by a snake catcher who feared it had been injured because its leg looked swollen.
But getting him down was no easy feat for snake-turned goanna catcher David Walton, the Cairns Post said.
