  1. The Gantt Guy says:

Does anyone remember the days when it was considered a great compliment to be called ‘discriminating’ and an insult to be ‘sophisticated’?

  2. KG says:

Yep. Back in the days when the language actually meant something, other than being a social engineering tool.

  3. KG says:

Via Andrew Bolt, the Labor welfare teat:
‘Since the election of Rudd in November 2007, public administration, education, and health sector jobs have accounted for nearly six out of 10 of the 760,000 jobs created, instead of the longer-term two out of 10. This is why unemployment is not running at 7 per cent.

  4. KG says:

The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched.

    Keith,

It would be nice if Australian ethics philosophers actually had ethics.

    • KG says:

Good grief! Wasn’t it an ethicist (Singer, I think) who sees nothing wrong with bestiality?
These people are screwed in the head.

  6. mara says:

KG. I am going to become a muslim. Yes! Not overnight you understand. The burqua and genital mutilation thing is a bit ott but hey, if, after the asian and muslim dog fight that is coming, the towel heads win, what is a dear old white lady supposed to do? OK, not so old and not so dear. Bring it on.

  7. Don’t do that Mara. I am sure the muslims will rape you all the same.
Think of those poor schoolgirls in the UK.
Or, the women in that square in Egypt.
    The women in Scandinavia.
I am sure we could go on.
Islam is not the Religion of Rape for nothing.

  8. KG says:

Fairfacts is right, Mara. My “dear old lady” intends to pick up a gun, and we expect no less from you.

  9. KG says:

“Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly tells US officials Israel won’t warn the US if it decides to attack Iran nuke facilities.”
Quite right–there are too many damn traitors in this Administration. I wouldn’t trust ’em with the plans to the office water cooler.

  10. mara says:

Israel and war. I have looked at this picture from every angle imaginable. Left, right, inside out and up the fucking khyber as far as the eye can see and the imagination allows. War is inevitable, they can trust nobody as you say KG and, though not Jewish myself, I could weep at the ignorant block headed intransigence of the “administration” in practically inviting this bloodbath to occur. OTOH perhaps it is a necessary thing well overdue.

  11. KG says:

I’m not Jewish either, Mara but if I was an Israeli I’d certainly regard this Administration with deep distrust.

  12. KG says:

“Ronbo says this white trash slut and her degenerate Leftist family needs to be hauled before judge and jury as enemies of the American People.”
The good Sergeant Ronbo is dead right there, Wratty. Thanks for that link.

I see in the Herald this morning that a “scientist” in Georgia, Russia Says that all the recent snow in Europe was caused by,you guessed it Global Warming. My god is anything not.

    • KG says:

Warts and ingrown toenails, perhaps? The whole damn thing is insane, Tom and so riddled with dodgy science, outright lies and “scientists” protecting their grants money that truth has become incidental.

  16. Katie says:

It is time we put Morality back in our schools. Thou shalt not kill, steal, etc…. must be taught. We need to teach love for country, G-d, each other. Manners DO matter!

  17. Ciaron says:

10 years for The Turangi Rapist…

    Fuck, I just despair!

  18. Tom says:

10 years for the rape,4 for assault,2 for burglary, served concurrently =10 years. fucking hopeless judges.

  19. KG says:

This is a fucking outrage. The prick will be out on parole in no time at all.
Somebody should slot the fucker, and the judge with it.

  20. KG says:

(and yes, I’m advocating murder. Out in the real world, we call that “justice”)

Oh FFS! Here is the result of the “professional” military we have now. Some “professional” Pentagon desk sitter came up with this you can be garranteed.Just because the guardians of the desk can’t pass the PT requirement doesn’t mean the average trooper can’t.

Whale Oil makes an ass of himself yet again, with this remark:

A lot of the young Argentinian conscripts fought courageously despite being half-starved an ill-equipped, up against Paras, and their pilots were amazing–this by reports from their opponents!

  25. Andrei says:

    Really odd phrasing

A solider is in Palmerston North Hospital recovering from a leg wound after a self-inflicted shooting during a training exercise at Linton Military Camp.

The New Zealand Defence Force said this afternoon that a member of a group undergoing pre-deployment training at the camp’s shooting range appeared to have discharged their weapon. They received a leg injury as a result.

The shooting happened about 3.30pm, though the Defence Force has not confirmed the soldier’s gender.

    • WAKE UP says:

The only reason they’d have to mention that is if it WASN’T male. Sheesh.

      • KG says:

Hmmm…the key here could be the “pre-deployment training”.
It’s not unheard-of for soldiers to get cold feet and disable themselves just before deployment.
Not that I regard a woman with a rifle as a “soldier” in any case ;-)

        • KG says:

Besides, had it been a decent bloody rifle instead of a poodle-shooter they wouldn’t have a “leg injury” so much as a missing leg..

  27. The Gantt Guy says:

Okeys, here’s some numbers y’all should know (hat-tip Facebook, believe it or not).

Since 2007, when Kevvie swept John Howard from power (the Howard/Costello government spent years repaying the prodigious amounts of debt wracked up by Hawke/Keating Labor and left KRudd/Giltard Labor with a nice little nest egg), the KRudd/Giltard “government” have managed to amass $200 Billion in debt. It’s only $100 Million of new debt PER DAY, but who’s counting.

The current 10 year Government bond rate is 4.67 per cent. [T]he loan .. over a period of 20 years [is] where it gets scary …. really scary.

The repayments on $200 billion, come to more than one and a quarter billion dollars – every month – for 20 years. It works out we – as taxpayers – will be repaying $15.4 billion in interest and principal every year .. $733 for every man woman and child – every year.

The total interest bill over the 20 years is – get this – $108 billion. Over 50 years … banana republic numbers.

Remember, this is a Government, that just 4 years ago, had NO debt. I repeat … NO debt.

How, you might wonder, did this rabble manage to run up so much debt off the back of so many failed policies in such a short period of time. Well, here’s a clue:

The six leading members of the Government have a collective work experience of 181 years, but only 13 in the private sector. However of those 13 years 11 years were spent working as trade union lawyers. Therefore of the 181 years collective experience, only two years were spent in the private sector.

So out of those 181 years:
    – no years spent running their own business
    – no years spent starting their own business
    – no years spent as a director of a family business or a company
    – no years as a director of a public company
    – no years in a senior position in a public company
    – no years in a senior position in a private company
    – no years working in corporate finance
    – no years in corporate or business restructuring
    – no years working in or with a bank
    – no years of experience in the capital markets
    – no years in a stock-broking firm
    – no years in negotiating debt facilities with banks
    – no years running a small business
    – no years at the World Bank or IMF or OECD
    – no years in Treasury or Finance.

Like crystal now, isn’t it. All of their “careers”, every single one of them, every single day has been spent on someone else’s teat. None of them have ever risked their own capital in a business venture, so it stands to reason they’d have no clue about using our capital in their [ad]ventures.

Bastards. A pox on the bloody lot of ’em. A bullet is too good for these treacherous scum.

    • KG says:

Good grief! I need time to fully absorb that. Why the HELL isn’t it headline news? WTF???

      • The Gantt Guy says:

Oh, because Australia has the greatest Treasurer who avoided a recession through this massive borrowing program. Incidentally, there was another list on Bolt’s blog the other day that documented all their policy failures. I’ll have to find it and re-post it.

And it isn’t headlines because it would finally bring down this corrupt, illegitimate rabble pretending to be a government, and would install Tny Abbott as Prime Minister. Which the liberal media don’t want because the hate him. He is, after all, a man of principle, and not a childless, atheist, ex-communist (@TM KRudd)

  28. KG says:

“…$733 for every man woman and child – every year.”
It’s even scarier than that. Consider the number of genuinely productive workers who will be carrying this burden and the figure is far, far higher for each of them.

    • The Gantt Guy says:

On the basis that half of people are net tax takers, it’s at least double that figure.

  29. KG says:

I’ve just been reading the comments under Andrew Bolt’s two latest posts. Has any other PM of Australia so demeaned the office? I honestly can’t think of one. Even the odious Keating and Whitlam weren’t this bad. Close, mind you. But Gillard has dragged it down to a whole new level.

    • The Gantt Guy says:

She sure has. She and Rudd have turned both the office of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs into a laughing stock. And Swan’s vitriol about Rudd has demeaned the office of Deputy PM and Treasurer.

They really are a pack of kindergarten children. In fact, if my 6 year old acted the way they have, she’d have a warmed-up backside!

  30. KG says:

 A couple of commenters now tell their children not to “tell a Gillard” and “stop telling Gillards”.
Consider, though, that at least a third of the electorate will still vote for these muppets come the election. Probably close to half, in fact. Doesn’t that speak volumes about what this nation has become?

  31. KG says:

Now I’m going to finish this drink and head off to bed. It’s been a hell of a couple of days around here. Battling bureaucracy.

“The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living”

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It’s her future she’s worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare that she’s being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion.

    Put me in charge . . .

Put me in charge of food stamps. I’d get rid of cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho’s, just money for 50kg bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Medicare. The first thing I’d do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job.

Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks?
You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your “home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a “government” job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good..”

Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules.. Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin their “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on Gov’t subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov’t welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.”

    The Obama Administration’s priorities:
‘For the soldiers who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and lost their legs from mines and improvised explosive devices, it is bitterly ironic news that detainees at Guantanamo, who helped maim them, will now be kicking around soccer balls at a new $750,000 field that is half the size of an American football field.’
While those same soldiers get their benefits cut!
